I could get drunk off of maybe two beers, high off of one good hit. I have been taking indicas up until 6 months ago when suddenly I started getting incredible anxiety and sleeplessness. Adding to this was a large increase in heat in my body...like hot flashes. \n\nI am a 27 yo F. Now if I take even the slightest amount of weed (have tried different strains) this happens. I can't figure out why this is happening. I hate the idea that I might never be able to smoke again.\n\nDoes this have to do with hormones? Seratonin? It can't be possible to \"green out\" with such small amounts of marijuana...right?\"\n_____________________\nHello there! I'm so sorry that you are having these reactions. However we might be able to do some deductive work to try to figure things out. The more I think about your case, I wonder if cannabis is even the issue. Hormonal swings in estrogen/ progesterone might cause some of the symptoms you describe. Have you spoken to your ob-gyn or regular MD about these issues? Is there any change in diet, stress levels at work, etc? If you think cannabis may be the cause, I might try taking a break for a short time (perhaps a week or so) and see if there is any change in your symptoms. Or another option is to try cannabis but to deliver it in a much lower concentration to your system; you can try diluting cannabis tincture in tea, coffee, juice, or soup and see if this helps. Let us know if any of these ideas lead to any useful findings & best of luck!\n\ndrpark\n_____________________\nBUY CANNABIS \nWe have top quality medical cannabis buds, oil extract, wax, hash and edibles available at affordable prices. If you weigh 150 lbs, that would be 450 to 750 mg daily. '\n\nDo you know anything about this? My mother has dementia and is loosing the ability to walk. I give her about 200 mg of cbd and it works fantastic for her agitation and anxiety but she walks even less now. Should increase the dose? any sugestion?\"\n_____________________\nYou do not say where that quote comes from and I want to be clear that there is no medical literature defining CBD doses for ANYTHING. CBD is remarkably benign in the human body and there are essentially no reports of toxicity, but at the same time there is no body of clinical studies defining a dosage range for any condition. Most reports of using CBD for various conditions are basically anecdotal, and the kind of dose-response information you are seeking is still folk medicine, not based on medical science. It is also not clear to me what other factors might be affecting you mother's ambulation, so the best I can suggest is that increasing the CBD dose is unlikely to cause any adverse effects and if the lack of walking is from CBD related sedation her response will likely be to walk less. If it helps, then I would not be concerned about a modest increase in dose unless other symptoms appear. \n\ndrelkind","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9078-markdown","title":"Is cannabis good for anxiety and depression ?","slug":"is-cannabis-good-for-anxiety-and-depression","content":"\"\n\"\n_____________________\nYes, it can be. For many patients w/ anxiety &/or mood dysphoria, I always explore how the pt is sleeping. If there are suspicions for things like sleep apnea or parasomnia, I suggest pt consider discussing about sleep studies with their primary care physician; I also suggest med cann. products that have THC and CBN to help with pt's sleep. I do warn that over-consumption of med. cann. has the potential to worsen mood issues or cause mood swings. If pt's anxiety or mood mgmt is not improving with these holistic modalities and judicious use of med cann, pt may want to consider addition of talk therapy measures like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or related therapy measures. Well I have a mild case of Social anxiety and the use of CBD has helped me a lot.\n\nOne of the most trending therapeutic applications of CBD-rich products is for the treatment of mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. \n\n \"We are still beginning to understand the full potential of CBD for brain health.  In addition to cannabinoid and serotonin receptors, it blocks the reuptake of adenosine, which is the opposite of how caffeine works.   It also binds to vanilloid receptors, which mediate pain signals, and reduces the excitation produced by painful stimuli. CBD promotes general balance among the systems of the brain and as we learn more about it, more people can be helped. \" stated by What Is CBD, the well known source of Cannabidiol aka CBD studies.\n\nsebastianwross","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9038-markdown","title":"Anxiety. Finding a preparation helpful for their symptoms often requires that patients do some cautious experimentation with different varieties of cannabis and cannabis preparations containing various ratios of CBD:THC. I suggest reviewing the cannabis 101 article on the HelloMD website (https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/cannabis-101-your-quick-guide-to-medical-marijuana) to begin discovering which types of cannabis preparations might be helpful and appropriate. Patients with anxiety often report the most benefit from preparations rich in CBD but also with small amounts of THC, such as 4:1 CBD:THC tinctures. As with many medicines, effects may change with larger doses. Begin with small amounts and increase gradually to find the optimal range. \n\ndrelkind\n_____________________\nHi there! As an example, although Melissa noted two scientific papers that addressed the issue, one of them was a promising report but a small study, and one of them involved finding CB1 receptors in key brain sites involved in anxiety (CBD does not bind to CB1 receptors) and was not a clinical paper. The good news is there is an enormous body of anecdotal evidence that CBD is helpful for patients experiencing anxiety, and there is zero evidence of any toxicity at all. This means that you can feel free to do some cautious experimenting to find a preparation and dose that are helpful without fear of doing harm. I hope you have the opportunity to go to a place where cannabis use is not criminalized so you can discover its potential benefits, but I'd start enthusiastically with CBD if that is available to you. \n\ndrelkind","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8937-markdown","title":"Looking for suggestions for Late stage Alzheimers anxiety relief?","slug":"looking-for-suggestions-for-late-stage-alzheimers-anxiety-relief","content":"\"We have tried CBD oil with small amounts of THC with some success but still cannot find a good balance. \"\n_____________________\nThere's no set dosage or regimen for Alzheimers and I'm not a doctor, but I can share someone's personal experience, which you might find helpful:\n\nWhen I worked at a cannabis extraction company, my co-worker's grandmother was in a similar situation. He used a high THC concentrate on her and his family found it very helpful. To give you an idea of oil strength, it was somewhere in the ball park of 500mg THC per 1g oil. Oil was a whole plant extract. They said that it just made her happier and helped her sleep.
