","slug":"is-there-a-recommendation-of-a-type-brand-for-fibro-and-back-pain","content":"\"I'm not looking to get high, just pain relief. I'm new at this.\"\n_____________________\nHello there! Fibromyalgia is a tough illness to deal with but also to treat so let me let you know how much I empathize. In my past training in pain mgmt and sports med/ rehab, I have discovered that a multi-modal approach is essential. Truthfully, the literature has no robust studies with sufficient patient numbers to state if a certain type/ strain is best for fibromyalgia pain. The physicians at HelloMD have specific recc's but one must keep in mind this is based on personal observation/ anecdotal evidence. Given my research background, I read a fascinating study the other day looking at the molecular biology of the endocannabinoid receptors; I won't bore you with details but what they mentioned has guided my recc's to patients. Basically, it looks like there is an \"entourage\" effect (words of the paper writers) in that if you use mult. different cannabinoid types (the study looked at both cbd and thc) there seems to be synergy! So that would be my recc; explore different COMBINATIONS of cannabinoids in differing concentrations/ %'s to optimize symptom relief. In addition, I would speak to your MD about two other modality arms for fibro Tx: 1) a gentle, daily exercise or movement based therapy (I've been telling patients that water aerobics or tai-chi would be a good start) 2) Because fibro seems to also involved higher brain functioning for the overactive stimulation of nerves, some sort of behavioural training seems very very important so ask your MD about things like Cognitive Behavioural Training (CBT), Dialectic Behavioural Training (DBT), Gestalt therapy or anything along those lines. I hope this helps and I pray you feel better!\n\ndrpark\n_____________________\nYou might also want to link to this HelloMD Case Study, telling the tale of how one patient manages fibromyalgia with cannabis-based solutions... \n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/marijuana-fibromyalgia-mary-s-success-story\n\nlarry44","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7005-markdown","title":"Changes in Dream habits?","slug":"changes-in-dream-habits","content":"\"I know it's well known the cannabis use can stop dreaming, or make it very hard to recall dreams. But, now, as I use more cannabis to help sleep and vape and smoke -- my dreams are back and quite vivid. Any reason?\"\n_____________________\nMost people who smoke marijuana have less dreaming as you have indicated. Most dreaming occurs during the REM phase of sleep and for whatever reason when people use marijuana this time during REM is decreased, which leads to little or no recall of dreams.\n\nBut as with most things marijuana, everyone's experience may not be the same. Some people do report having more vivid dreams, and i am not sure of the cause of this. What I can say however, is that many times switching up a strain or a product can alter one's experience, whether that be with sleep or pain, etc.\n\nSo, perhaps you may want to consider trying numerous strains and or tinctures or edibles to see if your experience varies. I know many people who consider edibles to be far more effective for a deep slumber.\n\nLastly, I assume you are smoking an indica before bed and not a sativa, which would energize you and possibly enhance REM sleep time.\n\nI am not a doctor and this post represents my opinion and research only. I hope this helps!\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7002-markdown","title":"best product for back pain","slug":"best-product-for-back-pain","content":"\n_____________________\nSorry, to hear about your back pain it would be helpful to have more information. Do you have Degenerative disc disease, have you had surgery, what area of your back is most affected your neck, mid back or low back? Are you brown skinned? Is there a history of bone disease problems and your family? So the reason for all these questions.... I think topical CBD salve(it does have THC also) is just one excellent form of cannabis to apply regularly to stop muscle spasms and pain. Using full flower CBD on a regular basis helps to stop the pain and all inflammatory disease. And your favorite Indica should help with sleep. If you are a brown skinned you very likely do not make vitamin D at all so please have your blood level of vitamin D checked then try to supplement vitamin D regularly every day with food until your blood level is above 55 ng/ ml. If your blood Level will not go up as it should, you could have a congenital vitamin D receptor block in your genetic make up but then you should see family members with bone problems and even diabetes since it's on the same chromosome. This makes treatment alone more challenging but it is doable because this is what I have and I always have to take a vitamin D and I struggle with the discomfort in my bones. It will require a lot more effort on your part to be well. Do not take calcium supplements you will calcified tissue you do not want to calcify so stop all dairy except for rare treat. Of course you should be under the care of a physician but most have never studied nutrition or genetics. So hopefully you can see why the answer is not simple and I can't recommend one product best or back pain only really I haven't addressed the issues of why you have back pain.\nGood luck, I think this can get you started on the road to feeling much better.\n\ndrolson\n_____________________\nI have a pinch never in my lower back, also have scoliosis with arthritis of the spine just want something that will help me get through the day with no pain. This pain that I have never goes away to were it is hard to do anything. When you have 2 children that needs you it makes it hard on them and you.\nHave tried everything under the sun when it comes to meds and way to deal with this and nothing helps. That when I found out about this and thought this is hopefully give me some kind of relief.\n\nsis982003","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6976-markdown","title":"I have cannabis oil, I need to know what to mix it with to massage onto my husband's painful back? ","slug":"i-have-cannabis-oil-i-need-to-know-what-to-mix-it-with-to-massage-onto-my-husbands-painful-back","content":"\n_____________________\nWell depending on the cannabis oil, it is often mixed with a carrier like coconut oil. If it has a label you may want to look at that to see. Otherwise, coconut oil is a common carrier. You can also mix it into a regular skin lotion or massage oil. There are some great brands out there like Sweet ReLeaf or Flower Power that are pre mixed. Hope this helps!\n\npamelahadfield\n_____________________\nCannabis comes in a variety of oils including tinctures (to be taken sublingual), oral capsules, creams, essential topical oils, and concentrated oils for vaporizers, etc. Consider which type of oil you have purchased before applying. Cannabis creams/salves are not mixed with anything, and are often applied liberally to an area of pain, where as topical essential oils are applied in smaller quantities as they often contain more concentrated psychoactive ingredients. If you purchased your \"cannabis oil\" without a medical marijuana card in California you most likely purchased \"hemp oil.\" Hemp oil, unlike cannabis oil has only trace amounts of THC and CBD, and therefore will be 100 times less potent than cannabis oil.\n\ndrb\n_____________________\nI'm with Pamela on this one. The only topical I use are whole plant cannabis oil mixed with coconut oil as a carrier. The only downside is that you might have to heat the mixture as coconut oil does go solid when it's colder, but I run mine under hot water for a few seconds and it's ready to go. Plus coconut oil is all natural and great for the skin\n\ncannabear","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6921-markdown","title":"Now that florida has passed medical will i qualify?
