A patient may developed xerostomia or a dry mouth, which is a common side effect of smoking marijuana. Cannabinoids bind to receptors located in the submandibular glands, which causes a loss of  ability to receive input from the nervous system, causing a disruption in normal saliva production. Dry mouth can cause your gums to bleed, altered sense of taste and accumulation of dental plaque. Before answering, there would be a couple questions with which  I  would want clarification.  When were you formally diagnosed with ADD/ ADHD and what types of treatments have you tried so far?   Have you been diagnosed with anything else that might contribute to the diagnosis? (i.e. anxiety/panic disorder, depression diagnosis, etc?).  As for cannabis, there are interesting studies being done, that might link ADHD to the CNR1 (Cannabinoid receptor 1) on Chromosome 6 ( article link: \n  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2685476).   However, there are other studies that seem to find a correlation between ADHD and CUD (Cannabis use disorder) (article link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4882033/)\n      \n     So with all these seemingly contradictory bits of information , what would be my recomendation?  If you haven't been formally diagnosed by a psychiatrist and at least given a good trial of first line medications, you owe it to yourself to at least check these  out first or to see if your initial diagnosis of ADHD might have been mistaken.  Another option is that cannabis can be used in moderation to help you as a pt handle the side effects from  the Rx meds/ stimulants.  If you absolutely can' handle these  Rx meds and want to experiment with cannabis, I would only do so under a very controlled setting with the lowest amount of cannabis use possible and with a psychiatrist/ therapist supervising the overall treatment plan.   Keep in mind that if you are under the age of 25, heavy (daily/ near daily)  cannabis use has associated cognitive/ IQ decline and increased rates of schizophrenia-like symptoms, worsening of anxiety/ depression, bipolar and other unsavory mental health issues; mult. sources have cited that this is linked to the frontal lobe of your brain being damaged. The overall message is: yes, this might help but overall ADHD should be managed by a multi-modal response that includes more than medications as cited by sources including the British Journal of Psychiatry. I hope that this information helps and if you want to talk further for an online consult, we can do that too!\n\ndrpark\n_____________________\nUnfortunately, there is very little formal research regarding the possible therapeutic value cannabis may have on ADHD and ADD.  However, a recent study by Loflin et al., studied current cannabis users and found that when the study subjects did NOT use cannabis, they were much more likely to exhibit hyperactive-impulsivity symptoms; or alternatively worded, cannabis helped reduce hyperactive-impuslivity symptoms in established cannabis users.\n\nAccording to the study above though, cannabis did not have much effect on focus. However, there is a plethora of anecdotal evidence supporting a positive effect on both hyperactive-impulsivity and focus. There was even a study which polled ADHD internet forums about the effectiveness of cannabis as a treatment. The study concluded that despite a lack of systematic research supporting the beneficial effects of cannabis use for ADHD, online discussions indicate that cannabis is helpful for improving focus in ADHD patients.\n\nWhen considering the above, in combination with the fact that conventional medications for ADD wreak havoc on one's health, I do believe that cannabis is a viable treatment option to try. Most of my ADD patients report a significant boost to their focus with a very small dose of sativa or a sativa-dominant hybrid.\n\ndrkim","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9999-markdown","title":"What type of bud makes you feel very relaxed","slug":"what-type-of-bud-makes-you-feel-very-relaxed","content":"\n_____________________\nEveryone is different so you may need to experiment with a few strains before you find the one that works right for you.\r\n\r\nI have noticed that Indica strains make me feel relaxed but also sleepy. The plants are grown organically, outdoors. The tincture contains mostly CBD and has a ratio of CBD to THC of 31:1, which is virtually \"THC free\" and, thereby, should have no psychoactive effects. The tincture also contains small amounts of other cannabinoids such as CBC and CBG as well as the terpenes beta myrcene and linalool.\n\nCBD-rich tincture is good for anxiety, chronic pain, PTSD, bone healing, and can provide energy, clarity and focus. It is also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Its neuroprotective properties make it potentially useful in diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS, epilepsy, dementia, and other neurodegenerative disorders. \n\nEach one-ounce bottle of tincture contains a minimum of 500 mg of CBD. The 173-proof biodynamic grape alcohol is strong and can burn if placed directly under the tongue so mix the tincture with a tiny amount of water and hold it in your mouth for 15 to 30 seconds. Discuss the required dosage with your cannabis doctor. Some find relief with just a drop or two so start with the smallest dose possible.\n\nTurtle Bud’s CBD-Rich Recovery Salve is made with a blend of AC/DC and Cannatonic, cannabis strains known for their high percentage of CBD. An herbal extraction of these CBD-rich cannabis flowers is made with extra virgin olive oil together with certified organic healing herbs of arnica, calendula, comfrey, and St. John’s Wort. These herbs are combined with beeswax, vitamin E, organic jojoba, and a blend of 5 certified organic essential oils.\n\nTo maintain the quality and potency of these exceptional ingredients, the salve is poured into Miron Violet Glass. Rigorous testing has been done with this glass as a storage vessel that has demonstrated its protective qualities. Miron Violet Glass is far superior to amber glass containers with respect to maintaining potency and maximizing shelf life. After the salve is finished, these beautiful jars can be reused to store a few of your favorite buds to keep them fresh.\n\nApply the salve liberally and lovingly to treat pain from arthritis and nerve damage, back and neck pain, repetitive strain injuries, sore muscles, sports injuries, golf and tennis elbow, inflammation, as well as skin conditions such as rashes, burns, psoriasis, eczema, and insect bites.\n\nEach 30 ml (1-ounce) jar contains a minimum of 250 mg of cannabinoids with a 7:1 ratio of CBD to THC. Will I notice a difference in flavor and experience, say if I had an OG Kush from an industrial farm vs. OG Kush from a Flow Kana farmer? I'm trying to understand the difference.\"\n_____________________\nTerroir is the French term that describes the unique attributes that occur in wine based on soil, slope, aspect (South, East,  etc), fertilizer choices, harvest date, and myriad other factors.   We would go as far as to include the intention and energy that the individual farmer puts into the medicine.  Our farmers use ecologically sound practices and do not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides.  As in most industrial agriculture, large scale cannabis cultivation often includes the use of chemicals and poisons.  FlowKana farmers utilize Integrated Pest Management strategies and natural processes to create unique results.  A chardonnay grape grown in different locations will produce subtle differences.   OG Kush grown in places by different farmers will do the same; still identifiable as OG, but with subtle variations in flavor,  structure, and effects.\n\namberhappyday\n_____________________\nThis portal has had such insightful questions, but I think this one takes the cake! You kind of hit the nail on the head, likening the differences to those in wine. For better, or for worse, policy makers, industry stakeholders and patients alike, have been drawing a lot of comparisons between cannabis and alcohol, especially as we move towards a more tightly regulated marketplace. \n\nCannabis is particularly similar to wine, in that there are many subtle differences that can be easily expressed and distinguished by consumers. The cannabis plant is cultivated, harvested, processed and stored in so many different ways that there is incredible variety to the flower or hashish that makes it to the consumer. Through the decades of senseless prohibition and the devastating effects of the drug war, cannabis cultivation has been twisted and contorted into a small dark closet of our world, but with changing regulations and the guiding efforts of groups like Flow Kana, cannabis farmers are finally going to see the light.\n\nWhile conventional agriculture would have you think all tomatoes are the same; this is far from the truth. The booming organic food industry, and the overwhelming success of company's like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's should give you some insight into just how wrong conventional Ag is. Now it might be hard to imagine, but there is a significantly more stringent system of farming that far exceeds the standards of today's organic programs, and it is that standard that Flow Kana demands from it's farmers.\n\nThis nature focused, biologically driven approach to farming, practiced by all Flow Kana farmers, works symbiotically with the intrinsic functions of the plant, allowing the plant's truest expression to be revealed. When I say truest expression, I mean in all forms, but most notably, and desirably, in the smell, taste and aroma. These delicate subtle notes that delight the senses are produced by a complex, volatile group of essential oils, called terpenes, that are capable of a myriad of medicinal and therapeutic effects. The natural farming systems employed by Flow Kana farmers enhance the oil production of their flowers, making them stronger smelling, tasting, and in many cases, slightly more potent. The subtle flavor notes present in organic, heirloom vegetables, are the very same differences Flow Kana farmers are able to coax out of their craft, small batch cannabis flowers. \n\nIn short, the differences between industrial OG Kush and Flow Kana OG Kush is intention. Industrial products are always focused on volume and economies of scale, while Flow Kana farmers focus on quality and sustainability. The farmers who give back to the land, see a cyclical return back from the earth; in this case that return is the beautiful cannabis inflorescence. Flow Kana has dedicated themselves to working with the farmers who've nurtured the strongest relationships with the earth and through this amazing synergy something special is forming, we'd love to have you along for the ride!\n\nmicah\n_____________________\nThere isn't any industrial grown flowers in our industry yet. If there was any industrial grown flowers in California today it would be Flow Canna. You see Flow Canna is sun grown which means outdoor grown . When the industry becomes more mainstream you will see fields of outdoor marijuana everywhere . Like vineyards , also like vineyards produce grapes to be processed into wine outdoor cannabis will be used to make oil for vape pens, edibles and so on. Flowers that are sold in their whole form will most likely be grown indoor or in advanced greenhouse. The reason for this is cannabis flowers are very oily and sticky. Any dust , mold spores , mites or even ash from forest fires will stick to the buds. Cannabis flowers are impossible to clean (believe me I have tried several products in my 20 years of cultivating) so the only way to produce clean high end organic pesticide free flowers is to cultivate indoor where the master grower has full control of the crop. For a complete range of our strictly indoor, hydroponic, organic and vegan flowers please follow this link https://greendoorwest.com/collections/all-flowers\n\nFinally let me suggest you compare our OG Kush strains (indoor hydro genetics we have stabilized over 20+ years) ) versus any (and I mean any) outdoor strains...the proof is in the pudding :) Yes you'll be able to taste the difference like thousands of patients in Southern California already have!\n\nclaude","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11094-markdown","title":"Where are these Mini J's rolled, and where is the bud sourced?","slug":"where-are-these-mini-js-rolled-and-where-is-the-bud-sourced","content":"\"Although I love these, I can't find much info about them anywhere.\"\n_____________________\nMini J's were designed by High Country Healing (HCH) in Colorado. Not only do you experience a smooth hit each time, but you control your usage way better than you would with the flowers. A lot of health benefits come from vaping concentrates.\n\nrugr2000\n_____________________\nConcentrates are definitely alot stronger than flowers but inside of the Firefly 2 concentrates are amazing. First of all you are vaping at 500 degrees f which for concentrates is perfect because you can actually taste your product plus it extends the usage of your material for example I pressed out a  .2 of rosin and got over 30 hits in my Firefly 2 and a dab rig can never do that for you. Firefly 2 is great with flowers but even better with concentrates. You can vape just about any concentrates whether it be wax shatter budder crumble even e liquid can be vaped as long as you use the concentrate pads they came with so the list is endless.\n\nwavyvaporizers\n_____________________\nIn my opinion, you get a much smoother pull from vaping concentrates over flower. You sacrifice some of the major flavor profiles using oil, but what you gain is consistancy, less burn, and less smell (it's much more inconspicuous). In my experience, you really can't overcook concentrates, where vaping flower can result in combustion. The biggest benefit is consistancy and uniformity when it comes to concentrates. I know exactly what one pull from a concentrate will do. With flower, you could have a section of bud that's highly concentrated and there's no real way of telling before smoking it. As mentioned by a previous poster, concentrates are also significantly more potent, resulting in fewer tokes.\n\nEdit: Forgot to add that even though the jury may still be out on this one, I personally believe that vaping in general has less health risks over combustion. As mentioned above, there's no way to combust oil, so you're probably in a safer place with concentrates than flower. \n\nCheers Mate! \n\nonlyyourdime\n_____________________\nVaping now if very common with all the new concentrates these days and smoking bud compared to concentrates is very different hi I feel. Where smoking bud is very nice and gets you too that point your looking for where to concentrates are more intense hi and relaxing and I feel the firefly would be a great tool to use for the everyday user or someone who wants something more discreet and almost look more professional to smoke with and enjoy thanks guys for producing something finally that looks smooth and safe to indulge in.\n\nzach76\n_____________________\nVaping is a great way to enjoy your concentrates! The main thing to keep in mind when using a vaporizer for concentrates is that you need to be sure your device can handle the proper temperatures necessary. The Firefly 2 can handle temperatures up to 400F, making it perfect for concentrates as well as herb. However, as opposed to just vaporizing normal cannabis, concentrates may require more cleanup afterwards.\n\nryanrosenblum","image":null}}]}},"pageContext":{"limit":12,"skip":0,"numPages":2,"currentPage":1,"id":5025,"name":"Bud","slug":"bud","country":"US"}},"staticQueryHashes":["3949754563","4179947113","4202924991"]}
