The good news is that you can play with CBD without the fear of getting stoned, as long as the ratio of CBD to THC is high, for instance a 20:1 tincture. CBD has proven effective for anxiety in research. See these articles below:\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/top-10-high-cbd-marijuana-strains-for-anxiety\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/how-medical-marijuana-tinctures-helped-melt-away-my-anxiety-and-stress\n\nFor some CBD can be very relaxing and to others it can actually stimulate you, so a word of caution before using it at night. I take 1omg of CBD 3x a day for pain and it works well, I have also found that it takes time to build up in the system and to feel the full effect.\n\nI would start with low doses suggested on the packages and also try a series of different ratios. Keep in mind that anything below a 4:1 may have some psychoactive effect on you.\n\nI am not a doctor and this represents my opinion only. They are now interfering with my work and personal life.  My husband and children are surprised when I don't have a headache.  I either take a ton of Ibuprofen or Zomig (a really expensive triptan), but they don't always work.  I'm pretty sure my kidneys are going to fail me one day.  I've read about CBD oil and how it can help, but I live in NC and there is no information about it here.  I don't want the THC, and I don't need it to feel high.  I just want to feel normal and live without pain.  Can anyone give me information on where I can get CBD and the best way to take it?  I'll travel if I have to.  Thanks so much for any help.\"\n_____________________\nCBD Oil was just classified (WRONGFULLY) as a schedule 1 drug by the DEA. Legally speaking, you aren't going to have a lot of options for CBD Oil in your state. You may be able to locate medicines that are based on something called CBD isolate, which is a crystalized form of CBD derived from only the stalks and roots of the industrial hemp plants, rather than the potent buds of CBD rich cannabis strains... it is not made from medicinal grade cannabis at all (rather, industrial grade), and I do not consider it very effective at all. They've stripped everything that's medicinally beneficial from the plant, and the heavy processing needed, renders it pretty ineffective, in my honest opinion. If you want to risk it, I know there are PLENTY of sellers on eBay selling CBD products. You can always try there.\n\nheatherlynn","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9599-markdown","title":"CBD 49% THC about 18% in 1gm/1ml syringe how much can I use 13 weeks post knee replacement off Opioids","slug":"cbd-49-thc-about-18-in-1gm-1ml-syringe-how-much-can-i-use-13-weeks-post-knee-replacement-off-opioids","content":"\n_____________________\nThere is no time frame for using cannabis after, or before, surgery. Going low and slow is the way we instruct all people to use cannabis. Thank you\"\n_____________________\nCBD reacts with THC to create the desired effect. What was the ratio of CBD you tried in your capsules? I would recommend that you try some additional products and combinations to see how you react.\r\n\r\nIf you are sensitive to THC, try a high CBD tincture - something like 18:1 by Care By Design. If that does not get you anxious, but does not help with the fibromyalgia either, then try increasing the ratio of THC, or the overall dosage. For example move to a 8 : 1 ratio, and try a small amount.\r\n\r\nIt's often a case of experimenting with different products and combinations that will ultimately work, because everyone reacts differently to cannabis.\n\nmark\n_____________________\nHi,\r\nI second 18:1 by Care by Design. Add a topical neck balm as well and see how the combination works. The high CBD ratio means you get pain relief without the side effects of THC. Although some THC does work synergistically to enhance the overall effect, as Mark mentioned.\n\njrec","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9588-markdown","title":"I have tried sublingual drops and sprays but still haven't found the right one for sleep help.","slug":"i-have-tried-sublingual-drops-and-sprays-but-still-havent-found-the-right-one-for-sleep-help","content":"\"I am looking for a cost effective product that will put me to sleep and that keeps me asleep.  I have tried the CBD sublingual spray and CBN sleep tincture.  They are each over a dollar a day.  What about sleep strips or something that I can use after brushing my teeth so I don't affect the product or brush it away? \"\n_____________________\nPersonally, I have found that edibles are the most cost effective and effective way for me to get to sleep and stay asleep. CBD has been indicated in some research to actually keep people awake, which seems counter intuitive as it is also a relaxant. THC seems to be the most effective cannabinoid for sleep for most people, although CBN does work for people as well but usually in conjunction with THC.\n\nThe nice thing with edibles is that you can eat it an hour before bed perhaps right after dinner and then brush your teeth and then get ready for a peaceful slumber. Edibles are metabolized by liver and also offer longer lasting effects. The typical edible will last for 4-6 hours depending on the dose.\n\nMy favorite edibles in California are Kiva terra bites, Satori chocolates and Auntie Dolores. Many people claim that 10mg is right for them, but I never go above 5mg. It is often an effort with trial and error to see what works for you and everyone is unique.\n\nI hope this helps!\n\npamelahadfield\n_____________________\nAbsolute Extracts Sleepy Time Spray is an excellent product to try for some nighttime insomnia. Can you recommend where to begin for chronic pain/fibromyalgia plus neck pain? Sensitive to meds and supp","slug":"hi-can-you-recommend-where-to-begin-for-chronic-pain-fibromyalgia-plus-neck-pain-sensitive-to-meds-and-supp","content":"\"I'm new and tried medication/supplements but am very sensitive and nothing is helping so would like some suggestions without smoking. I tend to get irritable with the cbd capsules from health food store and paranoid from smoking.  Thank you.\"\n_____________________\nIt may take some experimentation with different products to figure out exactly what works for your pain, but I'd suggest starting with the following two options. \n\nFirst, I'd find a tincture or edible that works well for you - some way to ingest cannabis so it works systemically on your pain. Many folks who are dealing with chronic pain prefer medicine that is not psychoactive, so I'd recommend starting with a high-CBD medicine. Remember that different tinctures and edibles use different strains of flower, so if one doesn't work well for you, try a different one before discounting CBD all together. Some specific products you might try - Om Edibles CBD sipping cacao, The Farmaceuticals Co CBD tincture, Moxie Meds 4:1 tincture. If these don't give enough pain relief, try a tincture/edible that is still low dose, but heavier in THC - maybe Treatwell's 1:1 tincture, or Oara chocolates that are only 5mg. You will have some psychoactivity from these THC products, but it should be mild if you keep the dose low - under 5mg, but I suggest starting with 1-2 mg to see how it works - that should also keep paranoia low. \n\nThe second, additional approach would be to use a topical on specific areas of pain (your neck, for example). A few I'd suggest starting with - Flower child muscle and bruise balm, Sweet Releaf, Om edibles oil, The Farmaceuticals Co CBD balm. I'd suggest doing this in addition to ingesting the cannabis, however, since your pain isn't originating from the outside (a bruise or sore muscle). Hope this helps!\n\namanda","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9568-markdown","title":"How do I detemine the CBD:THC ratio of 2:1 type of weed has most CBD?","slug":"how-do-i-detemine-the-cbd-thc-ratio-of-2-1-type-of-weed-has-most-cbd","content":"\"insomnia\"\n_____________________\nBy defining your ratio of a 2:1, that would be equal to 2 parts CBD to 1 part THC. In other words, if you had a 10mg CBD dose, of a 2:1, the THC would be 5mg. As far as the question of what strain of cannabis has the highest amount of CBD to THC, I am not sure I can absolutely answer that question. The high CBD strains I work with for Trokie products use a 3:1 ratio like Santa Cruz Tsunami or Clone 62, if you are looking to smoke or vape that strain in bud or concentrate form. Trokie is a buccal delivery system so it is delivered via your oral mucosa and not inhaled. We have a 1:1 ratio. There are many different strains out there with a broader range of ratios.\n\ndrkent1","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7556-markdown","title":"I've heard conflicting reports on whether a CBD-dominant product is really best for sleep. CBD to THC ratio. For example, once a week I suck on a 1/2 a candy that is 100 mg CBD/50 mg THC, with my dose for the night being 50mg CBD/25mg THC.\n\ndrmicheleross\n_____________________\nFor some patients, CBD can cause feelings of alertness, or inhibit sleep.  For others CBD does not have this effect.  This may be one of the reasons for the conflicting information you have come across.  In my own experience with patients, about 25% experience this \"alerting\" effect of CBD.  \r\n\r\nDuring our consumer testing for the Sleep formula in the hmbldt dose pen line we tried a variety of cannabinoid profiles and terpene blends to find the best Sleep solution we could.  In consumer testing the highest ratings of efficacy were for the 8:1 THC:CBD formula with a Myrcene-rich terpene blend, vaporizing1-3 doses of the formula.  As Dr. Ross notes in a previous answer smaller doses of THC, whether vaporized or ingested orally can be a good choice for people seeking the benefits of cannabis while avoiding some of the side effects.\n\nsamanthamiller","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7555-markdown","title":"Arthritis and migraines","slug":"arthritis-and-migraines","content":"\"CBD (indica and sativa) tinctures  have not worked at all for arthritis. How much is too much tincture? I'm new to this so need a lot of educating but so far I'm not very impressed. Don't want to smoke. One topical helps but smells like weed so can't go out with it on. Kiva 60/60 chocolate helps with sleep. Am I missing something ?\"\n_____________________\nHi, I would ask are you using primarily all CBD and how often are you dosing and for how long? Most CBD tinctures are usually displayed with a ratio of CBD:THC so you may have a 20:1 which would be 20 parts CBD to 1 part THC. CBD does help with inflammation but in my experience, a CBD tincture does not help immediately with pain, it is something that when taken over a longer period of pain may help calm general inflammation and discomfort.\n\nI don't have arthritis but I have intense migraines. I found that when I started taking CBD tinctures it took about 2-3 months before i noticed a real decrease in my pain until finally I don't get them at all anymore. That said, everyone is different. I find a tincture with high CBD 20:1 followed by a tincture with 4:1 later in the day is what works best for me. \n\nTopicals vary and many yes, do smell terrible or can be greasy. Topicals are great because they provide localized relief and do not enter the blood stream. Two topicals I love are SweetReLeaf and FlowerPower. \n\nAnother thing you might consider is microdosing during the day very small amounts of THC in 1-2 mg which can help with pain and relax the body while you are still able to function mentally. Satori Chocolates now has a great product. I will include links below.\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/cannabis-soothes-arthritis-pain\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/microdosing-the-big-new-trend\n\nI hope this helps! I have 5 fused vertebra, and I just found out hte \"pain\" in my feet is likely nerve pain from the spinal fluid pushing against it. With that said, the days are ok, as long as I am on my feet. Nights are hell, with stabbing pain in my feet that keeps me up all night. Was taking lost of Norco & Ibuprofen, have weaned myself from Norco. I am new to CBD, and now taking 1/8 CBD 3x  day, 1/4 CBD (one spray) and 5g THC cookie at night. I have a very low tolerance, and THC causes me to get anxiety attacks (this is why it took me so long to find my way to Cannabis!). I wake a few hours later with pain, and am afraid to redose since I have to get up and drive. Plus, this combo is getting too expensive for me to maintain. Any suggestions? Thank you!\"\n_____________________\nThe tincture and edible you're using are great for your issues, hopefully they've been providing some relief. I have two additional suggestions - topical and either vaping or smoking. \n\nCannabis topicals provide tremendous relief. Ideally, I'd suggest a pre-bedtime bath with cannabis Epsom salts followed by self massage with a topical oil and some very light stretching. That will really relax your body before bed. If you don't have time for a bath, applying the oil will also help a lot. \n\nFor the time midway through the night when you wake, smoking or vaping will provide fast relief and will wear off in less time than taking more of your edible. It may take some experimenting to find the right strain for you that doesn't produce any anxiety - look for a vape blend specifically formulated to promote calm.\n\nandrea13","image":null}}]}},"pageContext":{"limit":12,"skip":504,"numPages":66,"currentPage":43,"id":5084,"name":"CBD","slug":"cbd","country":"US"}},"staticQueryHashes":["3949754563","4179947113","4202924991"]}
