If the cartridge overheats, you may start burning the internals and releasing harmful toxins. You may also break your cartridge.\n\nThere may be little risk here, but you really can't know as you did not build the cartridge yourself. You will get bigger hits this way, but the device was not designed to be supercharged.\n\nryan","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7268-markdown","title":"What are the best methods of ingestion and combinations for insomnia? It is possible you did not use enough, the tincture was too low a dose, or you used it improperly. Also, here's a little trick that might also work for you tincture-wise; instead of just using it sublingually (under the tongue) try it in a nice soothing warm non-caffeinated tea like chamomile and put the tincture drops there and drink it slowly. AC/DC with THCA in a vaporizing pen works very fast.\r\nSome people are against vaporizing because they it equate it with smoking, but it is not smoking. It is true that you do not want to take a large amount on an inhalation because too much can be a little irritating to the throat and nose as well as making you tired so take the smallest most effective dose, to start.\r\nI also believe the topical salve is excellent for blocking pain for 4 to 6 hours at a time, it is not psychoactive so it may be applied liberally. \r\nAnother huge issue is to address vitamin D deficiency with your doctor.\n\ndrolson","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7246-markdown","title":"How does alcohol effect you, when taking CBD?","slug":"how-does-alcohol-effect-you-when-taking-cbd","content":"\n_____________________\nIt is always wise to keep your alcohol intake down to 2 drinks maximum for an evening since most people can maintain self-control but when alcohol is combined with other drugs it usually takes human clinical testing to determine the exact results. One test done on alcohol intake with cannabidiol (CBD) produced the following:\n\"Compared to placebo, alcohol and alcohol plus CBD, but not CBD alone, produced significant impairments of motor and psychomotor performances, overestimations of time production and subjective responses indicating an accurate self-perception of their intoxication and deficits. The combination of alcohol plus CBD resulted in significantly lower blood alcohol levels compared to alcohol given alone, however, there were few differences observed between the pharmacological effects of the two alcohol conditions. Thus, the inactivity of CBD, a major marijuana constituent, on motor and mental performance and effects also extends to its interaction with alcohol.\" \nPsychopharmacology (Berl). 1979;66(1):45-50.\nInteraction of cannabidiol and alcohol in humans.\nConsroe P, Carlini EA, Zwicker AP, Lacerda LA.\nIn other words, you're safe if you stick with your CBD Cannabis but it is best to not mix it with alcohol because you could become impaired especially in terms of your reaction time and that's when accidents can happen.\n\ndrolson\n_____________________\n@\n\nevankligman\n_____________________\nIt is quite common, although not advised in my opionion, to consume alcohol while also consuming marijuana. In a recent research study, readily available on PubMed, there was a study released on the interaction of cannabidiol, or CBD, with alcohol. In this study it was shown that when a person consumed alcohol with CBD, there was \"significant impairments of motor and psychomotor performances, overestimations of time production and subjective responses indicating an accurate self-perception of their intoxication and deficits\". Interestingly, when combined with alcohol, CBD resulted in far lower blood alcohol levels as well. \n\nThe other thing that may affect how you do if consuming CBD and alcohol, is your method of ingestion. Anecdotally, some people have reported they feel more impairment when vaping CBD. This may possibly be due to the fact, that there may be a ratio of CBD to THC as well. It is well known that the effect of THC is magnified when consuming alcohol. This is due to the fact that THC is dissolved by alcohol and essentially doubles the amount! In a recent study,\"Interaction with other drugs: metabolic interaction\", it also showed that when cannabis and alcohol are consumed together the effects are longer lasting. \n\nPersonally, it seems that recent research indicates that consuming alcohol and cannabis together are not a good combination, whether it be CBD or THC.\n\nThese comments represent my opinions, I am not a doctor. If you are not noticing any difference, I would recommend raising your dose of CBD and see if this changes things for you. I also recommend trying topical creams for your back and knee. Combine both for the best results.\n\nryan\n_____________________\nThe time it takes for your CBD to go into effect is going to differ from person-to-person. Generally you're going to be looking at 20 minutes - 1 hour. I read on this site that someone used it two to three times per day but it doesn't say how many hits the person took on the vape pen, although I am assuming one or two. Please advise.\"\n_____________________\nThe reason you do not read about dosage is that dosage is incredibly individual with cannabis. The term 'low and slow' is used a lot and that means take some and wait and see how you feel and then possibly take more. The problem is is that my tolerance may or may not be anything like yours. \n\nWith ACDC there is no THC and if there is it is neglible. You won't get high, you may however get very very relaxed. I have a very low tolerance for cannabis and with my ACDC vape pen I have gone at it until I felt pain relief. Again, this is subjective as what gives me pain relief may not give you pain relief.\n\nACDC is a high CBD strain. My experience with CBD is that it takes awhile to build up in the system. I might suggest that you try a high CBD tincture and use that on a daily basis and try a vape pen that is CBD but with a small ratio of THC for ongoing pain. There's CBD oil (Vet CBD, brand), RSO and hemp oil...but don't know the differences except the hemp's obtainable online which leads me to believe it's not strong enough. If anybody has information on the differences or, even better, experience (!), I'd appreciate it. \"\n_____________________\nHi - hopefully I can help clear up some differences in the products you mentioned.\n\nThere are two main varieties of CBD oil: those derived from industrial hemp, and oils derived from regular medical cannabis. (RSO is essentially a brand name for the latter.)\n\nThe CBD hemp oil that you see available online is derived from industrial hemp and does not contain any of the other active compounds usually associated with medical cannabis. Your hunch that hemp oil my be less effective is probably correct - vast majority of evidence suggests 'whole plant' extracts are more effective due to the 'entourage effect' of many different medicinal compounds from the plant working together.\n\nCBD oil made from regular medical cannabis, on the other hand, typically does retain a broader spectrum of the beneficial molecules so you are getting the maximum benefit of the whole plant. If you are able to acquire this type of oil, that is what I would recommend.
