First off, please find a \"neuro-opthamologist\" to evaluate you. Sometimes they give special eyedrops or medications like Neurontin; eyes are so valuable, I would get a \"second opinion\" about the pain ASAP!!\nAs far as cannabis, please read this short article: https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/micro-dosing-cannabis-stopped-my-chronic-pain\n\nI would look into hybrid-tinctures (50/50 THC and CBD) and take orally 1 to 3 x a day, like a medication, for a few weeks and see if the pain and inflammation resolve. Some ptients get good relief from the CBD-transdermal patches; one company is called \"Pure Ratios\" and you can try their products. As far as immediate pain relief, the THC-only edibles like \"Terra Bites\" can help; they are in doses of 2.5 to 10 mg. I do not recommend taking more than 20 mg in a 24-hour period.Best of luck.\n\ndrraisen","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10215-markdown","title":"Can I legally purchase marijuana in South Carolina?","slug":"can-i-legally-purchase-marijuana-in-south-carolina","content":"\"I have fibromyalgia and chronic pain.\"\n_____________________\nThe only cannabis that is allowed in South Carolina at this time would be the \nHemp CBD's for only patient's who have terminal or potentially chronic life threatening illnesses and it appears that all other attempts to legalize medical marijuana for a qualified patient with a prescription from a licensed Physician was rejected by South Carolina Senate, just last year, 2016. Find a registered practitioner. In New York, only doctors and licensed nurse practitioners that are registered with the state's medical marijuana program can issue cannabis certifications.\n\n2. Have a qualifying condition. Only patients with one of these serious, debilitating, or life-threatening conditions may qualify for medical marijuana: cancer, HIV-positive or AIDS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, epilepsy, inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), neuropathy, chronic pain as defined by 10 NYCRR ss 1004.2(a)(i)(xi), or Huntington's disease. Patients must also have one of the following associated or complicating conditions: cachexia (wasting syndrome), severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, or severe or persistent muscle spasms.\n\n3. Register. Once certified by a registered practitioner that you qualify for a medical marijuana certification, you need to register on the New York State Medical Marijuana Program's website. You'll need to provide proof your identity and residency. Once your registration is processed, you will be mailed a registry identification card. \n\nOnce you have completed these steps, you will be able to visit a registered marijuana dispensing facility to purchase medical marijuana products. \n\nIt's important to note that New York does not accept medical marijuana certifications or recommendations from other states.\n\nashleigh\n_____________________\nIn NYS, you must have one of the 11 qualifying conditions to be approved for a medical marijuana recommendation. You must then be certified by a registered medical marijuana practitioner. Upon certification, you must login to https://my.ny.gov/ and click on the \"Health Applications\" icon and then click on the \"Medical Marijuana Data Management System\" link to register. Patients who do not have a ny.gov account will need to click the \"Don't Have An Account\" button to create a personal ny.gov ID before proceeding. Patients will be required to provide proof of their identity and residency during the application process. Required documents can be found on the NYDOH website.\n\nwendynp","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10005-markdown","title":"I have chronic arthitis; the dispensary near me has only lotion; is it as effective as the oil?","slug":"i-have-chronic-arthitis-the-dispensary-near-me-has-only-lotion-is-it-as-effective-as-the-oil","content":"\n_____________________\nI assume you mean the topical oil and not the one you ingest? I also tell pts to continue doing other modalties for arthritis treatment: keep the jt moving/ exercise, try interdispersing cold packs for any jt inflammation, and try omega-3 supplements 2-3000mg/ day (based on papers I've read coming out of arthritis treatment in Europe). Can you recommend something to help me manage this?\"\n_____________________\nAcute, chronic pancreatitis is a life-threatening inflammatory disease usually triggered by carbohydrates especially alcohol, or in a newly diagnosed diabetic. Obviously you can no longer do any alcohol and you must be extremely careful with sugars especially high fructose corn syrup sweeteners or beet sweeteners but a paleo diet may work well for you. \nI encourage you to investigate the CBD cannabis. CBDs tend to make you calm and well while the THC makes you high and happy so the combination of the two will help you with your symptoms. I encourage you to use cannabis in a sublingual spray, non-alcoholic tincture, vaporizing oil and even the topical salve for inflammation and pain relief. Massaging the Cannabis CBD salve into your upper back and your upper abdomen over the pancreas should give you relief especially if you do this frequently at first and then start spacing the application out as you start to get relief of the pancreatic pain. If you are eating meats you may need to do specific digestive enzymes to help take the strain off your pancreas at meals. If your stools float you are passing too much oil in your stools and you may need to address your digestion a little more. \nTo help stimulate your appetite you may need a little moreTHC because it is known to stimulate your appetite. If you are overweight and you need to lose weight then please don't do higher THC because it will give you the munchies and being overweight increases your risk of cancer. \nI think CBDs makes you fall in love with yourself and you take much better care of yourself if you're taking your CBD's regularly but do consider being happy with your THC.\nIf you're having difficulty with sleep be sure to rubdown with the CBD salve and consider using a one-to-one, CBD: THC spray in the mouth or vape pen for sleep.\nYou can live through pancreatitis but the old rule is you might not live through the next attack, so please do learn to love yourself and recognize that your pancreas sits in the emotional center of your body and you want to ask yourself what relationship inflamed your emotions. No one else is responsible for your emotions so you are the one who has to delve into this and find the answers in order to heal your body.\n\ndrolson","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9950-markdown","title":"I started using CBD oil for chronic pain. I really want to not have to take opiates. Thank you! \n\"\n_____________________\nChronic pain is one of the most common reasons that people use cannabis. Most of the time a combination of CBD with THC has been found to be most effective. The entourage effect of both of the cannabinoids working together seems to give the best relief. The CBD alone may help with inflammation but adding some THC and slowly increasing the amount to get the desired pain relief would be the best way to go. There are different ratios of CBD:THC that are available either as a tincture or vape cartridge that can help with pain. Some are marketed and label specifically for chronic pain but you need start with a low amount and again, slowly increase since everyone reacts differently.\n\nPerry Solomon, MD\n_____________________\nHave you ever felt sick to your stomach after taking CBD oil? \n\n\n\namanda0115","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9938-markdown","title":"Can I obtain a California medical marijuana card through your organization?
