That said, depending on where you live, you may or may not be able to walk into a dispensary to purchase cannabis recreationally. Places like Oakland, Berkeley and Santa Cruz have a select number of dispensaries that are open to non-medical marijuana card holders. Meanwhile, a number of other cities/counties including San Francisco and Los Angeles are still not ready to sell recreationally. We published an article recently covering this topic. Hope it helps!\n\nlyp","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8854-markdown","title":"Can I use an out of state ID?","slug":"can-i-use-an-out-of-state-id","content":"\"I moved from Virginia to California over the summer but I do not have a California license yet. Can I still buy recreational? What about getting my medical card if I prove I live here? Thanks!\"\n_____________________\nHi there! You do not need to be a resident of CA to purchase cannabis. So long as you are 21+ you can buy recreational cannabis in CA. If you are under 21, then you can only purchase it medically, in which case you would need a medical recommendation. You do not need a CA ID to use our service to receive one, however you will want to check with the dispensaries in your area to make sure that they don't require one.\n\nYou can read more about the new regulations here: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/DO/letstalkcannabis/Pages/legal.aspx\n\nHope that helps!\n\nmelissa","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8825-markdown","title":"Can I use this service in Texas? Unfortunately we can only issue medical cards for California and New York. Reading the article I've posted below, it looks like in Texas you can only legally obtain CBD oil--and only if you have epilepsy. A bit of good news is that (according to this article) the state seems to have decriminalized possession of less than 4 oz of cannabis. Here's hoping 2018 sees an expansion of medical marijuana laws in Texas! \n\n\ngabriella","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8822-markdown","title":"Renew Medical Rec?","slug":"renew-medical-rec","content":"\"Should I renew my medical rec? Starting in 2018, I can walk into a dispensary and purchase what I need, so why should I renew my medical rec. and pay $59?\"\n_____________________\nHello there. Many locations in California won't be ready for Jan 1. Basically all cannabis businesses will need licenses from their county and CA. But CA won't give out licenses until the counties do it first, and many counties are still figuring out what their rules will be! So people may not be able to just stroll into a dispensary come January. Some other reasons to keep/renew your medical card: medical marijuana will be cheaper than recreational cannabis; a medical rec gives you access to a doctor, who can give you expert advice on treating any conditions you're dealing with (budtenders are great and knowledgeable, but they're not doctors); you have to be 21 to consume recreational cannabis, but only 18 to qualify for a medical card; because of the regulations, some dispensaries will be medical only. This article below will give you more info on the whole situation. Hope this helped! \n\ngabriella\n_____________________\nHi @greenleaves, I wrote this article a while back on the benefits of renewing your medical marijuana recommendation--it answers a lot of your questions, but of course let us know if you have any more. https://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/5a302030100a820006562ebf/why-youll-still-need-a-medical-recommendation-after-jan-1\n\nDanielle Lim ","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8817-markdown","title":"Need to buy CBD - approx. 1 oz?","slug":"need-to-buy-cbd-approx-1-oz","content":"\n_____________________\nwhat is field?\n\nsallydavis\n_____________________\nwhat procedure do i use?\n\nsallydavis\n_____________________\nh0w do i pay\n\nsallydavis\n_____________________\nWas there a particular CBD product that you were looking for?\n\nmelissa\n_____________________\nWere you looking for online or store front? It lets you purchase medical cannabis from any dispensary in CA. Your MMR is valid until the expiration date; you do not need a new MMR after Jan. 1.\n(2) a state issued Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) - you must apply for this. You can only get this card if you already have an MMR. This gives you a small tax discount on medical cannabis purchases. You do NOT need this card to purchase medical marijauana from a dispensary.\n\nDanielle Lim ","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8715-markdown","title":"How can I purchase this item?","slug":"how-can-i-purchase-this-item-1","content":"\n_____________________\nAssuming you live in California, Sweet Releaf can be purchased in many dispensaries and delivery services.
