CBD has helped migraine sufferers decrease the severity and frequency of headaches and associated symptoms. I would recommend to use high CBD in a vaporised form at the onset of symptoms. Whether it is an aura or neck pain or pain in the head, it's important to treat the symptoms right at the onset. Start with 1-2 puffs every 5 minutes. CBD can help prevent migraine as well. I recommend to use CBD in the tincture form 2.5mg (20:1 CBD:THC ratio) nightly. Hope this helps!\n\ndrjacquelynlew\n_____________________\nHello, \nThere was a recent study which showed promising results; the most significant finding was that cannabis drastically reduced the number of migraine headaches from 10.4/month to 4.6/month\nFurther, a very recently performed clinical trial showed that those who received a 200mg dose each day for three months, experienced significantly less pain when they had a migraine, (independent of using cannabis at the time of the headache). \n I also receive positive input from patients regarding CBD's efficacy when treating migraine headaches. However, rather than CBD, the relevant research centers around THC's role in migraine headache relief.\nThe understanding of migraine pathophysiology has evolved from the belief that migraine headaches are a vascular disorder, to evidence that better defines migraines as a neurogenic disorder associated with secondary changes in brain perfusion.\n\nTHC and CBD have been shown to, independent of vasocontsriction (blood vessel narrowing), reduce neuropathic pain. THC also increases cerebral serotonin levels which leads to vasoconstriction (blood vessel narrowing) - the same mechanism of action as the triptan medications, such as sumitriptan (Imitrex).\n\ndrkim\n_____________________\nHello, \nBecause of the extremely high frequency of your migraines, I would recommend that you use a tincture with a higher concentration of THC.\nFor example:\n4:1 tincture which contains 8mg of CBD and 2mg of THC per dropper full. For most people, 2mg of THC would only promote relaxation and a slight boost in mood. If that is acceptable, I might recommend that you take one or two droppers, 2 to 4 times/day.  \n\nIf you want to avoid any psychoactive effects, I'd recommend between a 15:1 to 25:1 tincture. If, for example, a 20:1 tincture contained 20mg of CBD and 1mg of THC per dropper full, I'd recommend that you take 1 dropper full 2 to 4 times per day. \n\nBecause migraines become much more difficult to treat as time passes by, I think that you've made a great choice for treating an ongoing or imminent migraine with a vape pen. \nHowever, I would recommend that you consider using a pen with some THC. THC would be even more vital in this setting because you need effective pain relief mmediately. And since repeatable dosing is a high priority for you, I'd recommend vaporizer pens from dosist which buzz after each dose is delivered.\nFor those not averse to psychoactive effects I'd recommend\n http://dosist.com/pen-relief/ which is a 1CBD:8THC formula specifically designed to alleviate pain. \n\nFor something more mild, you might consider http://dosist.com/pen-calm/, which is a 8CBD:1THC formula.\n\n\ndrkim\n_____________________\nDosist doesn't offer anything will a higher CBD content. However, Care By Design carries a 18CBD:1THC cartridge, which should not produce psychoactive effects, so I would recommend this cartridge over any pure CBD cartridge. \nhttps://www.cbd.org/products/cartridges/18-1-cartridge\n\nAnd since the vaporizer pen should be used for active or imminent headaches, I would recommend, like Dr. Lew mentioned, that you take one to two puffs every 5 minutes until you find adequate relief. If you are using a formula with more THC than a 15CBD:1THC cartridge, you should experiment with dosages at home, so that you can gauge your tolerance to THC.\nI hope this helps!\n\n\n\ndrkim","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11982-markdown","title":"What is the dosage of CBD oil for 30lbs toddler? Because CBD is not psychoactive and is tolerated so well by the human physiology there are few, if any, reports of toxicity. Patients commonly take anywhere from below 0.5mg/kg/day up to 10mg/kg/day or sometimes more, but there is little or no science behind claiming a best dose for any condition. There are some particular conditions in children which have appeared to benefit from cannabis treatment, including a rare type of childhood seizures for which there is now a CBD containing prescription medicine whose dose is 5mg/kg/day. If the child in question has such a diagnosis then obviously there are lots of other issues that need to be part of any plan to use medicinal cannabis. It is also important to keep in mind that many agents that are considered harmless to fully developed organisms can nevertheless have undesirable effects on organisms that are still rapidly developing, and this issue has yet to be well studied for CBD in humans. I'm assuming that you are looking for a scientific, or at least evidence-based answer. If you are seeking other information, such as \"popular\" (as in frequently heard about) plans for treating cancer with cannabis, or endorsements of preparations that people say cured their cancer, you should move on to a different answer from this one. Although in the laboratory cannabis has demonstrated effects on many biologal processes involved in cancer and the body's response to cancer, some extemely promising, the difference between a laboratory observation and a treatment protocol developed with clinical science is huge. The real situation is this: no actual parameters for successfully treating any kind of cancer with medicinal cannabis have been determined through clinical science. Any other advice you receive will be folk medicine. Folk medicine is full of truths and wisdom, but it can be hard to tell which truths are the wise ones. I think it is also important to keep in mind that many cancer patients find great relief of the symptoms of both their illness, and their treatment, with medicinal cannabis. And, as I am endlessly pointing out, making use of the mood moderating, anti-anxiety, and other typically observed effects of cannabis in cancer is supported by the clinically validated observation that attitude and desire to go on are key elements in cancer survival. \n\ndrelkind","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11832-markdown","title":"what is the dosage for daily use for arthritis in a 12 lb dog?","slug":"what-is-the-dosage-for-daily-use-for-arthritis-in-a-12-lb-dog","content":"\n_____________________\nHi there! \n\nThe dosing suggestions on the bottle suggest that you start with a small amount of tincture for your pup and increase as needed. \n\nStart by dosing twice a day with meals. Wondering if it’s my brain getting used to the CBD and if the Sedation and impairment of senses will subside so I can go up to a more therapeutic dose as I decrease my Zoloft dose slowly. \"\n_____________________\nHello,\nFirst and foremost, please discontinue taking the hemp derived CBD and consult with your primary care physician immediately. Also, if not already doing so, you should taper off of the Zoloft under the supervision of your prescribing physician -- not doing so may result in withdrawal symptoms, including: anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, depression, mood swings, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping, flu-like symptoms, headache and sweating; your symptoms may be due to improper tapering.\n\nI also recommend that you dispose of that bottle of CBD oil. Although unlikely, that oil may have not been processed correctlly, which possibly may lead to higher levels of THC than allowed. \nAdditionally, because CBD, THC and Zoloft are all metabolized by the cytochrome P450 system, I recommend that you discontinue cannabis products altogether until you've completed the tapering down of Zoloft.\n\n\ndrkim\n_____________________\nHello Tcylinder,\nI do not doubt anything you're telling me. I also do not doubt the people relaying their supporting anecdotal accounts. However, the science, thus far at least, behind CBD's non-psychoactivity is clear; the reason is the CB1 receptor. THC binds the CB1 receptors in the brain with high affinity, which then leads to many of the effects of cannabis, including sedation and becoming \"high.\" However, CBD binds the CB1 receptor very weakly (low affinity). Furthermore, CBD is actually a weak inhibitor of the CB1 receptor. Therefore, I am somewhat skeptical that it's the CBD causing the mild high and sedative effects.\n\nHowever, the science behind cannabis' effects, benefits and detriments is still in its infancy -- especially so when it comes to CBD -- so it is possible that CBD is what's causing your symptoms. I still recommend that you consult your prescribing physician and that you discontinue the CBD until advised otherwise by your doctor.\nRegards,\nDr. Kim \n\ndrkim\n_____________________\n I'm curious about whether you've discussed any of this with your physician who is prescribing the Zoloft? As Dr. Kim noted, CBD may compete with Zoloft for metabolism, potentially affecting the level of both substances in your system and making assumptions about dose vs effect less reliable. There is also considerable individual variation in this area of human biochemistry. And, while CBD does not bind to CB1 receptors in the nervous system the way THC does, it does modulate the interaction of THC with those receptors, which is a basis for exploring the differences in effects of various CBD:THC ratios. I do want to mention that while some apparent medical effects have been noted at various doses of CBD there is little, if any, science demonstrating target or optimum doses associated with those effects. In other words, this is still 'folk-medicine.' So is the idea that some people may experience a 'subtle high' with CBD alone. I'm fond of saying there is wisdom in folk-medicine, it's just hard to find out which wisdom is real. Finally, I'd like to add that many patients previously on SSRIs have found cannabis useful enough for moderating mood that they are able to discontinue the SSRI entirely For those whose work situation requires avoiding any overt pschoactivity, preparations such as 20:1 CBD:THC during that part of the day may be helpful. I hope you find a regimen that suits you. \n\ndrelkind","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9225-markdown","title":" My oncologist recommended 200mg/200mg THC/CBD creme cream for neuropathy pain-will it help?","slug":"200mg-200mg-thc-cbd-creme-balm-lotion-oil","content":"You may want to try the products at HerbaBuena.com or in a local dispensary within your state. I hope that all of these prove useful!\n\nDr Park","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/png;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.3245033112582782,"src":"/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/ee604/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.png","srcSet":"/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/69585/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.png 200w,\n/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/497c6/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.png 400w,\n/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/ee604/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.png 800w,\n/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/40363/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.png 1054w","srcWebp":"/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/58556/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/61e93/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.webp 200w,\n/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/1f5c5/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.webp 400w,\n/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/58556/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.webp 800w,\n/static/f4c12dcc747616c72ffa686ba54087a6/2de5e/1f8f0f0ada8238b102df12f72327e6b6.webp 1054w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9187-markdown","title":"Newbie edibles for cronic pain.","slug":"newbie-edibles-for-cronic-pain","content":"\"I've never consume cannabis in any manner. I was told cbd oils for day time to keep him calm and thc at night to help him sleep . But what would be the best dosage? I already bought the 200 mg cbd oil and tried It once and it didn’t work . So I’m guessing he needs a stronger miligrams . Is there a milligrams that can be recommended. Also someone mentioned indica strength is best . I am new to this. Any information is awesome \"\n_____________________\nHello, I can try to help from my experience. My mother has advanced dementia and was very agitated, walking around and falling. She is very calm now with around 180-200 mg of CBD daily divided in smaller doses. i also give her medical cannabis CBD: THC 1:1 in small doses, because THC makes her agitated and combative. I don't know the dose because I have made cannabutter my self so I go by feeling. She is never stoned but very calm. I hope I helped you in some way, if you have any more questions i will be glad to help :)\n\nkanica","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9158-markdown","title":"Hi There, ","slug":"hi-there","content":"\"Ive been looking online for a store in Oregon which has a high THC content. One that I found with 75% THC and 7.5% CBD is in a vaporiser. Is that suitable to use for medical purposes either orally or as a suppository? I assume the liquid has other contents but not sure what. This is for cancer treatment and I’m not able to get it medically. I’ve found a pure high dose CBD oil but can’t find the same for high dose THC, similar to Rick Simpson Oil. I need to order it from Oregon and have it delivered also but it’s been a bit hard finding the best place.
