However, we are each born with our own unique endocannabinoid system which evolves over time. And because  we are unsure about the effects prenatal cannabis exposure may have on the  developing fetus, I strongly advise that you abstain.\n\nThe safety of gabapentin for use during pregnancy has not been established either. Depending on how advanced your cirrhosis is, there could be an effect on the movement of ingested cannabis through the liver and on to the rest of the body.  If your COPD prevents you from inhaling, you might try tinctures or lozenges meant to be held in the mouth.  Cannabis can be absorbed directly from the mouth with effects usually in 10 minutes or so.  Once swallowed, a tincture is just an edible and will have to be absorbed from the stomach and passed through the liver before it reaches the rest of you.  Have you considered inhaling vaporized cannabis?
