Thanks\"\n_____________________\nThe key to any medicine, food or behavior is utilizing the minimum effective dose or \"enough is as good as a feast\". I would decrease the amount of cannabis you use and only utilize it when necessary. CBD also seems to help decrease some of the \"negative\" aspects of cannabis use, and I would suggest an outdoor, organic, sun-grown variety. Also try to use a wide variety of strains and methods; inhaled, topical, tinctures, patches, suppositories. \n\nandrewvanmd\n_____________________\nI couldn't agree more; Well said, Dr. Vanderveer! I like the analogy \"enough is good as a feast;\" a lot of people imho w/ cannabis may find that a little goes a lot farther than they might think. But at the end of the day, is eating an edible any more dangerous than smoking a cigar? or eating too much sugar as a diabetic? Why is there such a war on THC? Smoking, sure, anything inhaled into the lungs like tobacco, cannabis, paper, anything is harmful. But, edibles? What could be an actual causation from indulging one? Liver cancer?? anything? I understand medical marijuana helps those who are prescribed, but I'm asking for a family friend who uses recreationally.\"\n_____________________\nHello there! I think we have to start off with the nature of your question: are you asking can there be any adverse effects from THC if it's taken in a non-inhalation form? The short answer is: yes (but this can possibly be true of ANY cannabinoid, though CBD is documented to have less \"psychoactivity\". There is no \"war\" on THC; THC can indeed be useful as you've pointed out but there are deleterious side effects. If THC levels are too high in the blood, there are police and ER reports of said effects (i.e. paranoia, excessively high heart rate, etc). However, you can let you're friend know that there are plenty of MD's who think that THC ratios, in modest amounts of edibles/ tinctures/ vape-pens can be helpful. I personally have seen in help people sleep, help appetite, help improve symptom mgmt for neuropathic / nerve damage pain. However, given the nature of your friend's question, I think it would be wise to let them know that they are missing out if they just stick to THC; there seems to be evidence on the receptor level that having combo's of different cannabinoids together (they study I looked at looked at THC and CBD together) is actually better than just using one or another cannabinoid. I hope this answers your question; send your friend over if they have further questions!\n\ndrpark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6982-markdown","title":"Would like recommendation on edibles for sciatica that can be used morning and night","slug":"would-like-recommendation-on-edibles-for-sciatica-that-can-be-used-morning-and-night","content":"\n_____________________\nI like to recommend Kiva brand edibles because the dosages are very accurate and that alone can prevent you from ingesting too much and having a very unpleasant experience. I prefer smoking or vaping because it's very fast relief for my nerve pain.. but if that's not your thing, try the Kiva stuff and also a cannabis topical to rub into the area where you feel pain\n\ncannabear\n_____________________\nFor the morning, I recommend taking an edible that has a higher CBD content. That will help with the pain, but as is doesn't have a high THC content (or can be THC-free), there would be little to no psychoactive effects. A few examples are the Medi-Roons CBD product, available in Brownie and Lemon Pie. Also, Hashman makes a CBD Dark Chocolate Bar (80mg). At night, an edible with a higher THC content would be more compatible. At Green Door West, we offer a variety of higher THC edibles. We offer different choices from different brands in order to provide more flavors to choose from! We also offer a variety of doses, so customers are able to pick what works best for them! Our products can be found on our website at https://greendoorwest.com/.\n\ngreendoorwest\n_____________________\nHello, thanks for your interest in HelloMD. Can you tell us a little more about what has been done for your back and foot? Is the nerve damage a separate issue from the sciatica/ radiculopathy? What other meds are you taking? In terms of safety, a topical med cann prep that you can apply to the foot seems a good, safe place to start. There are a variety of products and how to use them but there's not enough time here to go over the dizzying number of things that might be helpful. If you are a HelloMD pt and have seen one of our care staff, are there any recc's that were made besides cannabis? I'm sorry I couldn't help more; if you haven't done so you might want to speak directly to me or any of our other providers Mon-Sun 10am- 7pm so we can help you more!.\n\ndrpark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6979-markdown","title":"I'm trying to find a dosing solution for my edlerly mother. Compared to other vape pens, the hmbldt pen is extremely easy to drag on. Also, it has very precise dosage with the little vibrating feature, and so this is good for elderly people that want to be aware of how much they are consuming. \n\nAlthough at $100 per pen, it seems like a lot, when you consider that each pen has 200 doses, that works out to 50c per dose, which is really very affordable.\n\nmark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6967-markdown","title":"Will cannabis Edibles help arthritis in my lower-back?","slug":"will-cannabis-edibles-help-arthritis-in-my-lower-back","content":"\n_____________________\nYes cannabis can help. There are several ways: first, it may relieve the acute pain you are feeling day in and day out. Second, if used as a tincture or edible, can work on reducing the inflammation in that area reducing pain. I would take a small dose of the CBD with your edible in the evening (I\"m not sure if you are eathing the 5mg at the same time you are taking the CBD.
