At 79 you will not need much to get relief, perhaps 5-10mg. CBD will not make you high or cause any impairment. And, it protects against stroke and heart disease. Preclinical studies showed that CBD given up to 5 hours after a stroke provided major protection against the complications of stroke and brain injury.\n\ndrblair","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10484-markdown","title":"I don't have a prescription. At first you must dose CBD's frequently to get rid of the symptoms and then you can start spacing out the frequency of dosing your CBD's, because if you only take one dose of CBDs per 24 hours, you may be imprinting your nerves that you want the pain to return, so please, treat your symptoms frequently to get the pain under control before you start to space out your CBD dose. Too much THC may increase pain especially if due to tension. \nThe following book may be of great benefit to learn to live in present moment :\nI also encourage Reading the book or listening to the audiotape, Eckhart Tolle, 'The Power of Now' to get in present moment since present moment is the only time we experience joy.\n\ndrolson","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10062-markdown","title":"Pot has been giving me headaches. Also is vaping concentrates better? \"\n_____________________\nMany things cause headaches but usually cannabis will treat those headaches. Please be certain you are using cannabis that is chemical free and preferably even organic. You might want to change the way you are administering the cannabis and vaporizing might be a very good alternative. If you have been smoking your cannabis it can cause you to become dehydrated but even worse if you're smoking in a dirty bong you can grow mold inside your body! \nCannabis, especially the CBD cannabis does tend to lower the blood sugar for people who have problems with their blood sugar but it usually does not make your blood sugar go lower than normal.\nConsider changing to vaporizing or oral tinctures and add more CBD's and your headache should resolve.\n\ndrolson\n_____________________\nCannabis and it's effect of causing a dehydrated or \"cotton mouth\" sensation are well documented; it's thought to be caused by cannabinoid action on salivary glands like the submandibular gland and decreased production of saliva. Source:\nhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16946411 As for low blood sugar, there was varying evidence but overall it seemed that low blood sugar was not caused by cannabis; however, there are studies that appetite is stimulated (resembling a low blood sugar episode) by cannabinoid's action on appetite hormones ghrelin and leptin (souce: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22133305).\n\nAs for stopping side effects? I would recommend cutting back on your med cann use, both the number of days and times/ day you are using cannabis. In general I tell patients to go \"low and slow\"; low referring to the mg's of the product and slow in terms of how fast the pt redoses the med cann. Vaping concentrates in a vapor might work but once again, I advise you to go \"low and slow.\" If you have headaches you might want to avoid smoking/ using direct flame as the carbon monoxide generated is a known headache inducer. I hope all these tips prove useful!\n\ndrpark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9925-markdown","title":"Is there any information about using CBD for NDPH (New Daily Persistent Headache)?","slug":"is-there-any-information-about-using-cbd-for-ndph-new-daily-persistent-headache","content":"\"NDPH is a severe chronic (daily) headache condition that has shown to be very intractable to treatments. Any timeI'm having a headache every day I have to question how long my poisoning myself. Most people don't realize that additives have been added to our foods and can trigger daily headaches, anxiety and go on to other brain diseases later in life if the trigger is not found and eliminated.\nConsider eliminating all free glutamate's from your diet since they are neurologically toxic especially to people who have migraines or anxiety issues.\nConsider visiting www.truthinlabeling.org for more information. \nIt is wise to protect your brain and neurological function with CBD while you are searching for the headache trigger. Maybe you are not drinking enough water and inadequate hydration is responsible for many headaches. \nPeople try eating Gluten-free and then get some relief but please look at the following video:\nwww.youtube.com/watch?v=iL4SD5f2toQ\nSince I do get headaches frequently I have come to realize I am very chemically sensitive so I do take a high dose of CBDTo protect my brain in her logical function and it has greatly helped to reduce my headaches as well as other health benefits but the real benefit has been eliminating free glutamate from my diet. Glutamate is an amino acidBut it's when we have too many free glutamate's, it is neurologically toxic to the brain and precipitates headaches as well as a slow deterioration of the brain so I think it's wise for everyone to eliminate MSG and free glutamate from their diet and take CBD to protect the brain.\n\ndrolson","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9767-markdown","title":"My name is shane and have multiple injuries causing pain and headaches","slug":"my-name-is-shane-and-have-multiple-injuries-causing-pain-and-headaches","content":"\"Looking for something other than pills\"\n_____________________\nHi Shane, \n\nI'm sorry to hear about your injuries, pain and headaches - That sounds very uncomfortable. They are now interfering with my work and personal life. My husband and children are surprised when I don't have a headache. I either take a ton of Ibuprofen or Zomig (a really expensive triptan), but they don't always work. I'm pretty sure my kidneys are going to fail me one day. I've read about CBD oil and how it can help, but I live in NC and there is no information about it here. I don't want the THC, and I don't need it to feel high. I just want to feel normal and live without pain. Can anyone give me information on where I can get CBD and the best way to take it? I'll travel if I have to. Thanks so much for any help.\"\n_____________________\nCBD Oil was just classified (WRONGFULLY) as a schedule 1 drug by the DEA. Legally speaking, you aren't going to have a lot of options for CBD Oil in your state. You may be able to locate medicines that are based on something called CBD isolate, which is a crystalized form of CBD derived from only the stalks and roots of the industrial hemp plants, rather than the potent buds of CBD rich cannabis strains... it is not made from medicinal grade cannabis at all (rather, industrial grade), and I do not consider it very effective at all. They've stripped everything that's medicinally beneficial from the plant, and the heavy processing needed, renders it pretty ineffective, in my honest opinion. If you want to risk it, I know there are PLENTY of sellers on eBay selling CBD products. You can always try there.\n\nheatherlynn","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7535-markdown","title":"Anxiety, depression, migraines and headaches. My migraines are \"silent\", without headache but cause single sided neurological issues, nausea, jaw pain, numbness and tingling as well as a host of other odd neuro sensations. I'm looking for a way to prevent my migraines or reduce the frequency.\"\n_____________________\nCannabis treats the symptoms of migraines, it is not a cure. \nCannabis salve applied to the neck will typically stop migraines from immediately reoccurring as in the case of cluster migraines.\nIn order to prevent migraines it seems likely it is a combination of regular intake of CBD Cannabis as well as eliminating all the offending food substances and chemicals from your environment. You may want to do a search for the articles on our website, in the chat room, regarding migraines. Free glutamate's are neurologically toxic (this is not gluten), cigarette smoke, perfumes and many environmental chemicals are toxic to migraine sufferers as well as simple items like Parmesan, an aged cheese you might have on a pizza.\nCannabis tincture works because there is some evidence that CBD protects the brain from neurotoxins and the damage they cause.\nConsider doing high CBD tincture, 2 to 3 doses per day and I believe you will notice a difference in about a month with the reduction of the severity and frequency of your migraines but you must eliminate the exposure to Neurotoxins. Once your migraines are under control you may reduce your CBD intake to see what the minimum doses that will still control your migraines but please don't add in the neurotoxins.\n\ndrolson\n_____________________\nI have constant migraines.
