I have had \"signs\" that this may be possible but not a complete erection. Would continued use of medical cannabis (RSO, indica strain vaping, eatables) help me to achieve the ability to be sexual.\"\n_____________________\nSince CBD will reduce any performance anxiety, you may want to add CBD cannabis for daytime use and then use your Indica for sexual activity. CBD may actually help to heal the nerves and that would benefit you also. I would venture to say that you might try some of the topical cannabis designed as a spray for women to increase pleasure but you may want to try it on your penis. Given your age you very likely have had a decline in your HGH level and that affects your ability to function sexually. You could have a 7 AM IGF-1 serum level measured and ideally it should be close to 200 but if it is under 100 you need support. I have helped a lot of men support their IGF-1 naturally but due to constraints I can't talk about that information here, you would have to contact me outside this website. Do try the cannabis first and you might try interval training to see if it will help your IGF-1 level. \nPlease be certain you have adequate vitamin D blood levels, above 50 ng/ML for optimal results because of vitamin D and CBD cannabis should correct your fibromyalgia as long as you are not taking supplemental calcium, you should get your calcium from vegetables and leafy greens instead. Also, you want them to measure your total and free testosterone levels at 7 AM. You just may need a little hormonal shifting but you should come back to normal.\nIf you have had prostate cancer, that is usually do to high estrogen levels in your prostate or exposure to environmental toxins such as glyphosates. You may want to look into the Wiley protocol for men.\nGood luck but keep us posted on how you're doing if you need additional help, since we are here to help you.\n\ndrolson","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11263-markdown","title":"Insomnia and dry mouth - both keep me up at night. Any solution?","slug":"insomnia-and-dry-mouth-both-keep-me-up-at-night-any-solution","content":"\"I have insomnia and use indica cannabis but dry mouth keeps me up at night. Is there a solution to this?\"\n_____________________\nI'm not a doctor but I do use cannabis for insomnia and I also know that this is a common problem. Dry mouth is caused by the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors and the regulatory control of the endocannabinoid system. For whatever reason, ingesting cannabis can inhibit saliva production. What I have understood on the subject is that THC is not responsible for this, but in my experience the more THC I consume, meaning the higher the % the more likely I am to experience this symptom. I also notice if I smoke I get this whereas I have an edible or a sub lingual spray it is less likely. There is much written to the contrary on that, but that is my experience!\n\nThere are some common 'what not to do' items when you have this symptom; which is to avoid alcohol, sugary drinks, coffee or anything salty.Commonsense really!\n\nWhat you should do if you plan to smoke before sleeping to combat insomnia is to drink a lot of water throughout the day, eat fruits like oranges, drink milk (weird I know) or chew sugarless gum. Let me say it again, drink tons of water throughout the day.\n\nLastly, it is a good idea that you get this under control if it is happening all the time. One of the only known negative health consequences of ingesting cannabis is oddly, gum disease. This is thought to be caused by dry mouth at night. Your saliva actually protects your gums and teeth while you sleep and dry mouth over a period of years will likely cause decay within your mouth.\n\nHere is a recent news segment we did on this topic:\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/hellomd-live-episode-6\n\nHope this helps!\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11166-markdown","title":"What is the best type of cannabis for insomnia?","slug":"what-is-the-best-type-of-cannabis-for-insomnia","content":"\n_____________________\nResults vary from patient to patient, but most often indica strains will aide with sleep. Indica puts you \"in da couch\". Cannabis that has been aged (left out and exposed to sunlight), will develop a higher level of CBN, which is quite sedating. Edibles and tinctures will have a longer duration of effect and are most helpful for people who wake up frequently during the night.\n\nandrewvanmd","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11139-markdown","title":"What to use to get back to sleep for middle of night waking and staying up.","slug":"what-to-use-to-get-back-to-sleep-for-middle-of-night-waking-and-staying-up","content":"\"I wake up after 3 or 4 hours and sometimes can get back to sleep with 5HTP or valerian, but lately I am operating on just those few hours and am exhausted. I read edible indica is recommended. Can you name some products I could try?\"\n_____________________\nIt is true that an indica is a good choice for sleeping, whereas a sativa will make you more energetic. Hybrids, the combo of the two, might have that energetic effect as well.\nAs everyone is very different in their reaction to cannabis, you most often will need to experiment with what works for you. For instance, if you are sensitive to THC it may actually be very easy to take too much and even with an indica it could keep you awake.\n\nMy advice to you is to go low and slow and experiment with some different products. One approach you might take is to use cannabis before you go to bed and see if it extends your sleep. If you choose this route, many people like to use edibles. Auntie Dolores has many different THC infused products. Do yourself a favor though and do not take more than 5mg your first night and see how you react, if all is good but the effect was not enough you may want to increase to 10mg the next night. An edible will take a minimum of 1 hour before you feel the effects. One edible I adore is Flora's pro biotic mint chocolate bite which is a 5mg dose. You can find this on www.Getsava.com They do statewide delivery and the people there will always give good advice.\n\nThe other route to go is with a tincture or sublingual spray. I find that Alta Botanical California's spasm tincture works well for me. I also like Absolute Extracts sub lingual spray Sleepytime. For me one spray of this under the tongue is enough. I will spray one squirt in my mouth in the middle of the night if i can not sleep and it works well, but I do feel a little lethargic in the am, but that is me. Tinctures and sub linguals work quickly and the effect can be felt in as little as 15 minutes. Again, go with a lower dose than suggested and see how it works for you.\n\nYou could vape before bedtime and this could work for you. There are indica dominant oil cartridges out there that are good for sleeping. I don't like theidea of vaping near bedtime so this is never my preference. Be cautious regarding your sensitivity to THC as it could keep you up. Start with one puff and go up from there.\n \nWhat I would not recommend are the gummies they hand out at the dispensaries with purchase. They always seems to steer people towards these and i have yet to meet someone it works well for for insomnia.\n\nHope this helps!\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11116-markdown","title":"Where can I find a tincture that is made with the following?","slug":"where-can-i-find-a-tincture-that-is-made-with-the-following","content":"\"CBD 28 > 1 THC, MCT oils, Indica, and the 'whole flower' ?\"\n_____________________\nMany CBD oils are whole plant sativa with a THC content of less than 0.3% (hemp by definition). Indicas are typically highTHC so I am doubtful that you will find a high CBD indica variety. Charlotte's Web, Haleigh's Hope, and Palmetto Harmony are a few of the safe and reputable varieties that can be found in dispensaries and/or online. They are usually anywhere from 24-28:1 CBD:THC, and are tested for heavy metals, solvents, pesticides, mold, and bacteria, which is very important. They have varying terpene and cannabinoid profiles so one might be more effective than another for any particular patient. All of these varieties are used extensively for treating seizures, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. Besides being an anti-convulsant, anti-spasmodic, mood stabilizer, and anti-psychotic, CBD is a potent anti-inflammatory, relieves neuropathic and inflammatory pain, is neuro- and gastro-protective, lowers gastric acidity, suppresses appetite, and potentiates the pain relieving effects of THC.\n\ndrfrye","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11110-markdown","title":"What would be a good strain for insomnia?","slug":"what-would-be-a-good-strain-for-insomnia","content":"\"I have heard indicas are better for nighttime smoking, what would be a good strain?\"\n_____________________\nI discourage smoking, because when you burn weed, you are making carbon monoxide, tar, and carcinogens. If you use a lighter, you are inhaling butane. All of these chemicals are toxic and may be harmful. \n\nSo, if you want a fast-acting medication, I suggest vaporizing. Keep in mind that the sedative effects of vaporized cannabis will only last for an hour or two. If you find that you are waking up in the middle of the night with difficulty staying asleep, I would recommend an edible formulation, which will last up to 6-8 hours and hopefully allow a full night's sleep. \n\nIndica strains are, in general, much more relaxing and sleep-inducing than sativa strains. There are many. Some suggestions include \"purple,\" \"OG,\" and \"kush\" strains. You can always ask other members of your collective / bud tenders to help point you in the right direction.\n\ndredmunds","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11104-markdown","title":"when using a CBD tincture is there a difference in effect due to plant origin- indica va sativa?","slug":"when-using-a-cbd-tincture-is-there-a-difference-in-effect-due-to-plant-origin-indica-va-sativa","content":"\n_____________________\nYes, there is although some people may debate this and say that indica and sativa have become so cross bred and confused that the effect are diluted. In general an indica will make you more relaxed, be sedating and have a full body effect. Sativa on the other hand will generally create a more uplifting, energetic, creative effect, like it may make you want to get up and clean your house.\n\nThat said, most tinctures you will find will not list whether they are sativa or indica based. Rather they will tell you the ratio of CBD to THC. For instance, I often take a 20:1 ratio tincture which is 20 parts CBD to 1 part THC. To complicate matters you will find that cannabis sativa tends to have more CBD toTHC in the plant, so there may be a tendency to use cannabis sativa although I can not verify this as the way people make their products is highly variable.\n\nLastly, if you are taking a CBD tincture it is important to know if it is being made from hemp or as many people say 'whole flower'. Hemp is bred for the highest level of CBD to lowest levels of THC (almost imperceptible). My personal preference is always to go for whole flower over hemp based CBD tinctures as I believe in the entourage effect.\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10920-markdown","title":"What would be the most appropriate %thc and %cbd for HER2+ carcinoma (breast) if using the 60g protocol? Many different opinions exist as to the optimal percentage of CBD and THC in the oil. My reccomendation would be to utilize cannabis that has a balance of THC and CBD and that is not too psychoactive or sedating. The exact percentages have yet to be determined and what may be more important is to use oil that is free of solvent and other extranious chemicals. If too much psychoactivity exsists with a certain oil, it would be wise to utilize an oil with less THC.\n\nandrewvanmd","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10877-markdown","title":"Smoking marijuana helps with my anxiety but I can only smoke indica. Is that my imagination?\"\n_____________________\nInhaling vapors or smoke of any substance can cause irritation of the airways and lead to coughing, a natural reflex designed to clear the large airways of foreign material and secretions. Habitually smoking large quantities of cannabis over a long time period can cause bronchitis and irritation of the airways, with increased phlegm and sputum as well as a chronic cough. For some people, the coughing induced by cannabis works well to expectorate secretions, and seems to help them breath better. Certain strains (and growing conditions) of cannabis seem to induce more coughing. Some connoisseurs of cannabis will be able to determine if the strain was grown indoors or outdoors, and whether of not chemicals were used(and how well they were flushed) based on the amount of coughing induced. If a certain strain of cannabis seems to induce more coughing (and this coughing is not desired), it may be wise to switch strains. Each strain is different based on genetics, growing conditions and the way it is ingested. If you experience a cough for more than a few weeks, I would recommend visiting a helathcare provider to have this complaint addressed.\n\nandrewvanmd","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10736-markdown","title":"Hydroxyzine & Indica","slug":"hydroxyzine-indica","content":"\"I'm currently taking Hydroxyzine at nighttime before bed for my allergy symptoms. If you take CBD cannabis during the day, it is important to keep the THC level low so you can drive a car or go to work since you won't be 'high' at all. Then you can certainly take an Indica at night because you won't have to worry about a reaction.\nBHI makes a nasal spray with euphorbium and the more you use it, the less you need it and it stops allergies.
