I smoke different stains a day to deal with my MS. I was just diagnosed with frozen shoulder. What is the strongest pain, and best for sleep?\"\n_____________________\nIt really depends on your constitution and what ultimately works for you. With cannabis as you probably know, everyone reacts differently. I can point you to some recent articles we have written on this topic:\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/the-best-marijuana-strains-for-back-pain\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/the-5-most-popular-strains-of-cannabis\n\nAlso, have you tried any edibles rather than vaping? The pain relief typically lasts longer with an edible at around 4-6 hours.\n\nLastly, there are some great topicals on the market which may help soothe your shoulder. I love Sweet ReLeaf and Flower Power.\n\nI am not a doctor and this represents my opinion only.\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7005-markdown","title":"Changes in Dream habits?","slug":"changes-in-dream-habits","content":"\"I know it's well known the cannabis use can stop dreaming, or make it very hard to recall dreams. But, now, as I use more cannabis to help sleep and vape and smoke -- my dreams are back and quite vivid. Any reason?\"\n_____________________\nMost people who smoke marijuana have less dreaming as you have indicated. Most dreaming occurs during the REM phase of sleep and for whatever reason when people use marijuana this time during REM is decreased, which leads to little or no recall of dreams.\n\nBut as with most things marijuana, everyone's experience may not be the same. Some people do report having more vivid dreams, and i am not sure of the cause of this. What I can say however, is that many times switching up a strain or a product can alter one's experience, whether that be with sleep or pain, etc.\n\nSo, perhaps you may want to consider trying numerous strains and or tinctures or edibles to see if your experience varies. I know many people who consider edibles to be far more effective for a deep slumber.\n\nLastly, I assume you are smoking an indica before bed and not a sativa, which would energize you and possibly enhance REM sleep time.\n\nI am not a doctor and this post represents my opinion and research only. I hope this helps!\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6997-markdown","title":"I am undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. ","slug":"i-am-undergoing-chemotherapy-for-breast-cancer","content":"\"What type of cannabis will be the most helpful for pain. sleep, etc?\"\n_____________________\nI am sorry to hear about your treatment. Cannabis can certainly be helpful for both pain and sleep. Rather than the type of cannabis, start first with a chosen method of application.\n\nFor sleep, I would recommend an edible product, and if you can find one with a strong indica as content. Edibles tend to come on slower, and may help to keep you asleep longer. Any indica strain will suffice. There are several edible products designed specifically to assist with sleep. Your location will determine what is available to you locally. I would suggest you find a good local dispensary and see what they carry.\n\nHere are some good choices for products that will help you sleep: https://www.hellomd.com/search/sleep/products\n\nFor more information on sleep related products: https://www.hellomd.com/topics/insomnia\n\nFor pain, you might want to try a combination of an edible, along with a vaporizer. Vaping cannabis has an immediate effect, and so this could be beneficial during waking hours. \n\nHere are some options for vaporizer products: https://www.hellomd.com/search/vaporizer/products\n\nHope this helps and best of luck with your treatment.\n\nmark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6965-markdown","title":"Tell us about your pen's evolution - which essences were first imagined? A hot bath with cannabis infused epsom salt, massage with a cannabis topical oil, and some light stretching before bed should help your muscles relax deeply before sleep so you can stay comfortable through the night. \n\nAnother thing to try is a light THC tincture, a few drops taken under your tongue before bed will help you stay relaxed through the night.\n\namanda\n_____________________\nCBD:THC ratio of 2:1 sublingual candies works for me and many other patients with spasms. That said, I can tell you what I like and what works for me for sleep. In general edibles ate a great option as they last for 4-6 hours. My preference is Kiva Terra Bites blueberries. They are 5mg a piece and depending on your tolerance you can take 5, 10 or 15 mg. Take an hour before bedtime. Another great option is Absolute Extracts sublingual spray called SleepyTime. High CBDs and low THC? Thanks!","slug":"what-is-the-best-product-for-insomnia-that-doesnt-make-you-high-high-cbds-and-low-thc-thanks","content":"\n_____________________\nAs I say, everyone is different so you are going to have to figure out what dosing and mode of administration works for you. If it is psychological issues that keep you awake, stress and/or anxiety, a straight CBD/Low THC tincture might work but it doesn't work like a sleeping pill. Rather, over time the cannabinoids will increase your sense of well being leading to better sleep. If it is a physical problem, then High CBD/Low THC might not work. You can try what is called \"micro dosing\", using 5 mg or 10 mg of THC in edible form. Mixing this with cbd - perhaps getting 1:1 ratio bar that Kiva has may also help as CBD reduces the psychoactivity of THC. You can also build tolerance to THC through continued dosing so that you don't feel the high with THC as your body builds up tolerance. Finally, research is showing that it is the myrcene - a terpene in cannabis - that, when taking in high enough doses - is what cause people to get drowsy. Indica strains usually have a high percentage of this essential oil Hope this helps.\n\ndneice","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6888-markdown","title":"I have panic attacks, anxiety, insomnia and low libido. ","slug":"what-are-the-best-specific-edibles-for-anxiety-and-insomnia","content":"\n_____________________\nEdibles can be a little difficult to navigate as each person reacts to them differently. People metabolize edibles in different ways, thus some people experience a relaxing and soothing effect, while others experience an energizing and focusing effect. It is difficult to say exactly which type of edible will give you the exact effects you are looking for. However, I can recommend some certain brands which have been said to lean towards certain reactions. For anxiety, edibles with higher CBD content rather than THC have been said to help in this area. At Green Door West we offer vegan edibles, with several high in CBD such as the CBD Zinger cookies by the Venice Cookie Company, Aunt Dolores CBD Brownie Bites, and a couple different brands of chocolate bars high in CBD, such as Hashman and the Venice Cookie Co.). In regards to insomnia, Organix Gummies are known to help this condition. These are comparable to the Edipure Gummies and are sold at our online store (available for delivery). \nhttps://greendoorwest.com/\n\npetergdw\n_____________________\nEdibles can be tricky as they can take 1-3 hours to begin working. A product that some boast has a quicker result time such as 20 minutes is a product called Kiva Blueberry Terra Bites. The product treats insomnia via a chocolate covered blueberry in small increments of 5 mg each bite. Recommended dosing is 1-3 bites, 1-3 hours before bed. \nAs always with edibles, I would recommend taking a 1/4 of the recommended dose with each new edible batch and waiting 3 hours before increasing as to avoid toxic effects such as profuse unwanted vomiting. \n\nFor anxiety, I would recommend a sublingual tincture or spray of CBD:THC ratio of >14:1. Care by design makes a CBD:THC ratio of 18:1 spray.\n\ndrb\n_____________________\nwhat is the very best mixture for a person who has suffered from insomnia for years and wants to get off sleeping pills?
