Here are some studies where it was used: \nhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22509985\nhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21456949\nhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26764336\n\nBased on these studies, finding a product with a 1:1 ratio may be good place to start. You can adjust dosings and ratios as you see fit. The general rule is always \"start low and go slow.\" Product-wise it would probably be easiest to find 1:1 ratios in tincture form, although there are some strains out there like Cannatonic and Canna-Tsu that usually have something close to a 1:1.\n\nI'd also encourage you to look for a 1:1 product that is full specturm to get the added benefits of terpenes. \n\nBest of luck! \n\nDanielle Lim \n_____________________\nHi! Here is a post from my blog where I list some of my favorite strains for my MS pain. In a more recent post I talk about the fact that I have learned that it is about which terpenes are IN the strains that I select. \nhttp://www.bbhwithms.com/multiple-sclerosis-cannabis-list-top-strains-pain/\n\nbbhwithms","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8565-markdown","title":"Do Terra bites work?","slug":"do-terra-bites-work","content":"\"I have been told that a 1:1 tincture works well for insomnia, which works best & will give me more than a few hours of sleep?\"\n_____________________\nEveryone is different regarding their body makeup and how different products affect them. Kiva Terra bites are edibles and take 1-3 hours to kick in unless you suck all the chocolate off immediately then they may work in 30-40 minutes instead. Edibles on average can last up to 8 hours. The negative possibility with edibles is \"overhang\" which is where the next day you are still feeling the effects. For CBD tinctures a CBD:THC ratio of 1:1 is the strongest for sleep, works in 20 minutes when placed under the tongue, and can last on average of 6 hours. You really have to try each product to know how it will affect you personally. Problem is - pot generally gives me anxiety and sometimes even panic attack. I've tried heavy CBD strains and haven't noticed any effect. Are there any powerful strains that DO NOT result in anxiety, for those prone to pot-induced anxiety? Thank you!\"\n_____________________\nHi, I tried the cbd’s for chronic insomnia, had to go to something stronger, I found you need to stay away from sativa strains, some hybrids ( which has is a crossbreed; the sativas and some hybrids can cause anxiety)but use any indica strain to help with sleep. Research some of the different types within the indica strains and you’ll be able to see if one makes you sleepy or relaxed, there’s a huge field to choose from, educate yourself\nabout the different types and that way someone doesn’t sell you something you don’t need! \n\nlbmenehune83\n_____________________\nSomething to remember is that there is a difference in being able to go to sleep and to stay asleep. They each can use different types of cannnabis. For difficulties going to sleep a tincture or a vape pen will have a faster affect and allow you to fall asleep. If you have no issue falling asleep but then wake up several hours later, then an edible may be the way to go. This is because an edible can take 1-2 hours to kick in and will last several hours. The effect also depends on what you have eaten for dinner and how long you take it before going to bed.\nI also suggest keeping a sleep journal where you keep track of what you ate (briefly), what type of cannabis you used, how you slept and what you felt like in the morning. You can titrate what you used to the effect that you want.\n\nPerry Solomon, MD\n_____________________\nMy favorite \"sleepy time\" strains include Bubba Kush, Zensation, Grape Ape and 9 LB Hammer. It was definately \"trial and error\" to find ones that work well, but they have been a game changer for me. What dosage?","slug":"will-thca-help-with-sleep-what-dosage","content":"\"@pacbell.net\"\n_____________________\nActually, it's non-psychoactive CBN that can help with insomnia. Have a look at this article to learn more about how it works. As for how much to take, it depends on the individual. Everyone's endocannabinoid system is unique so you're going to need to experiment to find the right dose for you. Start out low and go slow. I found Kikoko's Tranquili-tea (which has 5 mg CBN and 3 mg THC) to help me sleep.\n\nlyp\n_____________________\nThis is highly dependent on how your system works. THCA is the precursor to THC. In my experience it really depends on how your individual endocannabinoid system works with the cannabinoid you are taking. THCA has been shown to have significant therapeutic value and the bonus is it is not psychoactive. Here is an article we did awhile back. Juyst be aware that if it becomes heated it will convert to THC. For instance, we had a heat wave this summer and my bottle was exposed to sunlight and heat in my home and it did convert.\n\npamelahadfield","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8550-markdown","title":"Recommendations for Insomnia & Back Pain","slug":"recommendations-for-insomnia-back-pain","content":"\"I'm very new to this and the options are overwhelming. I simply want one edible candy for insomnia and another for back pain. I'm not interested in getting high. Thank you.\"\n_____________________\nHey there, I find the Kiva petra mints (which are only 2.5 mg per mint) work well in terms of helping me sleep through the night. I will increase my dose at bedtime to 2 mints (or 5 mg) during stressful times. I've also found success using the Kiva chocolate-covered blueberries (which are ~5 mg each), though I switched to the petra mints as I typically only need 2.5 mg to have a good night's sleep. As well, I've tried Kikokko's Tranquili-tea which contains 5 mg CBN and 3 mg THC--CBN is what makes you sleepy, and I found that I had a good night's sleep with it. As for back pain, here's an article you may want to read. The last of the strains in the list is ACDC, which is higher in CBD and lower in THC. I use it in vape form for my chronic migraine pain, and find it to be helpful (along with a 1:1 tincture).\n\nlyp\n_____________________\nTo completely avoid any feelings of being 'high', you can also consider cannabis-infused topicals for back pain. Here is a helpful link: \n\nLarry\n_____________________\nThis may sound strange, but cannabis suppositories seem to help me with lower back pain as well as menstrual issues. I have used Foria Relief many times and have found the pain relief to be fairly immediate and the overall sensation relaxing. Although they are high in THC, and I am VERY sensitive to THC, they are not psychoactive. For many, the idea of a suppository may be off putting, but I think this is one of the best methods of consumtpion when you don't want to get high and want pain relief. As I am very senstivie to THC, this has been a great way for me to take cannabis and not experience any negative side effects. A range of doses from 10 mg to 600 mg and higher amounts has been studies in scientific research, for insomnia, anxiety, depression, stress, and other conditions. I recommend to take it in as a sublingual tincture or vaping for quick-acting relief. \n\nnptherasse","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8543-markdown","title":"Seeking advise on which cannibis product helps with sleep and leg cramps","slug":"seeking-advise-on-which-cannibis-product-helps-with-sleep-and-leg-cramps","content":"\"The leg cramps usually occur around 1 -2 am\"\n_____________________\nProducts that help with sleep really depend on your own chemistry and what works best for you. I am able to go to sleep with a high CBD ratio but for some people this may keep you up. Other people prefer high THC products, which more typically can put you to sleep especially if they are derived from an indica strain. I would try microdosing a product over a period of nights, upping your dose until you feel like it puts you into the right slumber. For me, if I take too much THC I am wide awake, or almost on the verge of sleep but never get there!\n\nLeg cramps can be caused by a bunch of different things including Over exercising or injury, pregnancy, extreme temperatures, medically related conditions, dehydration. and from specific medications. Good thing is that cannabis is a known anti spasmodic and can help with that aspect. For instance, some people do well on very high levels of THC for sleeping, where others, it can keep them awake. The same goes for CBD. I allows suggest to people when they ask me, to go low and slow with any dosage so you don't end up wide awake or MORE wide awake.\n\nIn general, edibles are a great way to take cannabis for sleep because once they kick in they last for 4-6 hours. Many people too dop not like the idea of vaping or smoking right before bed.\n\nTinctures are also popular these days and I have found they kick in rather quickly for me. \n\npamelahadfield\n_____________________\nIn terms of anxiety, most people seem to respond well to high levels of CBD and or flower that has more of a balanced ratio of CBD to THC. ","slug":"what-is-the-best-type-of-cannabis-for-insomnia-1","content":"\"I am currently using two capsules of cannabis oil but I'm still only getting 4 hours of sleep.\"\n_____________________\nHello, choosing the right marijuana strain is an important part of the treatment process. Sativa-dominant strains tend to have an energizing and uplifting effect, which is not helpful when you want to fall asleep. Not everyone experiences the “upper” feeling, but it’s generally best to avoid Sativa strains when sleep is your goal. ndica-dominant strains are typically the best choice for treating insomnia. Indica strains typically induce a sleepy feeling that helps you drift off and stay asleep. The cannabinoid called cannabinol (CBN) tends to have a sedating effect, so choosing a strain high in CBN may be a good choice. Aged cannabis tends to have higher levels of CBN because the THC breaks down into CBN as it ages, making it a better choice for getting good sleep. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) also appears to be effective in treating insomnia. It may help you fall asleep faster with less difficulty and it may reduce the number of times you wake up in the middle of the night. THC can worsen anxiety symptoms when used in high doses. If your insomnia stems from anxiety or you feel anxiety as a result of your sleep issues, opt for a strain that’s low in THC.\n\ncherylnp","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8477-markdown","title":"I am interested in investing in a medical card.
