If it has a label you may want to look at that to see. Otherwise, coconut oil is a common carrier. You can also mix it into a regular skin lotion or massage oil. There are some great brands out there like Sweet ReLeaf or Flower Power that are pre mixed. Hope this helps!\n\npamelahadfield\n_____________________\nCannabis comes in a variety of oils including tinctures (to be taken sublingual), oral capsules, creams, essential topical oils, and concentrated oils for vaporizers, etc. Consider which type of oil you have purchased before applying. Cannabis creams/salves are not mixed with anything, and are often applied liberally to an area of pain, where as topical essential oils are applied in smaller quantities as they often contain more concentrated psychoactive ingredients. If you purchased your \"cannabis oil\" without a medical marijuana card in California you most likely purchased \"hemp oil.\" Hemp oil, unlike cannabis oil has only trace amounts of THC and CBD, and therefore will be 100 times less potent than cannabis oil.\n\ndrb\n_____________________\nI'm with Pamela on this one. The only topical I use are whole plant cannabis oil mixed with coconut oil as a carrier. The only downside is that you might have to heat the mixture as coconut oil does go solid when it's colder, but I run mine under hot water for a few seconds and it's ready to go. Plus coconut oil is all natural and great for the skin\n\ncannabear","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6970-markdown","title":"At what temperature are you heating the oil within the vape pen?","slug":"at-what-temperature-are-you-heating-the-oil-within-the-vape-pen","content":"\n_____________________\nVaporization of cannabis compounds begins first with the terpenoids at around 130 degrees F and continues up to 350 degrees F. For some reason I am not responding to anything I have smoke with a ceramic vaporizer or with any of the vape pens from W vapes, Bhang and Jetty. And yes I have tried the top strains for pain mgmt and have not gotten any relief. I even tried Girl Scouts and some other various strains with various THC strengths and I don't respond not even with a slight buzz. My friends think it's from being on such strong Rx's for so long. It has been recommended I try oil. There seems to be lots of different schools of thought on it. Especially the RSO since it's hemp vs cannabis and the different cannabinoids. After having spent so much money on trying so many different strains I can't afford to play the guessing game with the oils especially after trying various weed strains and getting no relief or even a buzz from those with THC in them. I have researched oils and even looked at menus in an effort to learn more but it seems focused on making your own oil than what oils are out there and what the options are and results. Even with the RSO all about making your own and then you have the hemp vs cannabinoid issue of effectiveness. I've gotten very frustrated and spent close to $500 in all these various experiments so I am seeking guidance/advice. \"\n_____________________\nThc is absorbed through the body so much differently than prescription medication that I don't think that's going to be your problem. My aunt who has been on everything from morphine to Oxy for her health issues reacted veryyy well with a relatively low dose of an edible. Your issue is most likely dosing. I take cannabis to manage pain from a bulging disc in my neck that's running a nerve and it does so well for nerve pain, but you have to make sure to take enough. I find smoking the easiest way to dose... because if you aren't getting your relief quickly, you can always go back outside and smoke a few more drags and see how you feel then. If You smoke enough of a solid thc rich strain, you will literally be in deep sleep within half an hour! Unless for whatever reason your body doesn't metabolize thc.. and that's rare. That being said, make sure you're using good meds, take your time in finding your dose, and keep trying until you do so!\n\ncannabear","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6932-markdown","title":"how much CBD oil should I take for a migraine? the oil I have is 25mg CBD per 1ml. ","slug":"what-are-vape-oils-made-of","content":"\n_____________________\nVaporizer oils are traditionally made of cannabis oils that were extracted using a supercritical CO2 extraction. Some are made with specialty butane (and other) extractions, but this is generally rarer. Some oils are pure or very close to pure, while others are cut with liquids commonly used in e-cigarettes to thin out the otherwise un-vapeable consistency (Vegetable glycol and propylene glycol, though vegetable is more popular). Some oils have terpenes added back into the oil that were lost during the extraction, while others leave things untouched. Others add flavors with the terpenes, like banana smoothie (thanks KURVANA!), or even make special blends dedicated to certain ailments. HMBLT is a great example of an ailment specific vaporizer.\n\nryan\n_____________________\nVape Oils, typically found in the \"concentrates\" portion of a dispensary's menu, are made from concentrated cannabis oils. They are created by extracting and straining away the cannabinoids from the cannabis plant using either a solvent-less extraction method or a solvent, such as CO2 or alcohol. There is no plant matter in the oil concentrates, nor is there much terpenes left if any. Concentrates, as its name suggest, have a much higher THC or CBD content than the raw flower, up to 80% pure THC as opposed to 15-30% in flowers. Buyers shouold be aware that not all oils are created equal! For most brands out there the process of extratcting oil hardly ever starts with the most prisitine flowers. Less desirable raw materials are typically used for the manufacturing of oil with a focus on profit rather than quality. Make sure to research your vape oil carefully or source it only from a trusted dsipsensary who took the time to do the research for you! \r\nAt Green Door West we strictly offer vape oils which have been derived from the purest part of the cannabis flowers, such as the GoldCart and PureGold Squeeze Tube. \n\ngreendoorwest\n_____________________\nLike the other answers confirm, vape oil is a concentrated cannabis/hemp oil. This raises the risk of contaminants as hemp is a “bio-accumulator”—meaning the plant naturally drawns toxins from the soil.\n Hemp-derived CBD and refined CBD powder lack critical medicinal terpenes and secondary cannabinoids found in cannabis oil. These compounds interact with CBD and THC to enhance their medicinal benefits.\n It’s against federal law to use hemp leaves and flowers to make drug products. Hemp oil entrepreneurs attempt to sidestep this legal hurdle by dubiously claiming they extract CBD only from hemp stalk before importing it to the United States, a grey area activity at best.\nHope that helps!!\nhttps://www.projectcbd.org/cannabis-oil-vs-hemp-oil\n\nPiantaTinta","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6864-markdown","title":"Vaping oil vs flowers - what are the health effects of each to the lungs?","slug":"vaping-oil-vs-flowers-what-are-the-health-effects-of-each-to-the-lungs","content":"\n_____________________\nI would not divide “lung health” in concentrated oil vs flower vaped categories. Instead I would consider the differences of flower vs oil, and the differences between CBD and THC. For instance, whole flower gives a benefit of enhanced taste of terpenes while inhaling, but with a decreased potency (10-25%). Think of a whole flower, as a whole strawberry, and concentrated oils as just the vitamin C. There are probably more health benefits in a whole strawberry than just vitamin C. We just may not be aware of them. Concentrated oils, on the other hand, are more potent (50-90%) of the ingredient you are trying to have a benefit from.\nFor lung health, I would also take in consideration the actual type of cannabis. For instance, high THC products and terpenes that are added such as alpha-pinene (think fragrance of pine trees and rosemary) are both strong bronchodilators that open the lungs; whereas high CBD products are used to decrease chronic inflammation found in diseases such as asthma, and COPD that prevent the lungs from opening in the first place.\n\ndrb","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6834-markdown","title":"Should I stop taking CBD 1:1 oil before prolotherapy injection?","slug":"should-i-stop-taking-cbd-1-1-oil-before-prolotherapy-injection","content":"\"I'm having a prolotherapy injection in a couple of weeks in my hip. This is achieved in a synergystic fashion with the other compounds in cannabis. Synthetic mono-drug anti-inflammatory therapy takes aim at single enzymes in our bodies, which often produces other unwanted \"collateral damage\" and severe side effects. \nWhile I am not extremely familiar with prolotherapy, the concept seems to be to increase local inflammation to induce our body to produce systemic anti-inflammatory molecules. Common sense would indicate that prolotherapy work be effective in most cases unless you are taking massive doses of anti-inflammatory drugs. \nAll this being said, I would continue with the 1:1 CBD:THC and go forward with the therapy. If results are poor, maybe try stopping the CBD:THC for a few days before your next prolotherapy and assess for results.\n\nandrewvanmd","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_6825-markdown","title":"I want the pain benefits from my oil without being too sleepy.
