The only issue will be that any type of use except for topicals may show up in your urine if they test for THC. Depending on how frequently you would use it, and then stop, it can take up to 30 days for the THC to be undetected in your urine. If you use a patch that has plastic on the outside, the absorption can also become systemic and THC can still show up in your urine due to to the backing forcing all of the cannabis ointment into your system. \nA topical that is just rubbed onto the skin without any covering should not be systemically absorbed in quantities enough to appear in your urine.\n\nPerry Solomon, MD","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9612-markdown","title":"How much cbd oil should I take for pain","slug":"how-much-cbd-oil-should-i-take-for-pain","content":"\n_____________________\nYou should start by taking 10mg and see how that affects you. They are now interfering with my work and personal life. My husband and children are surprised when I don't have a headache. I either take a ton of Ibuprofen or Zomig (a really expensive triptan), but they don't always work. I'm pretty sure my kidneys are going to fail me one day. I've read about CBD oil and how it can help, but I live in NC and there is no information about it here. I don't want the THC, and I don't need it to feel high. I just want to feel normal and live without pain. Can anyone give me information on where I can get CBD and the best way to take it? I'll travel if I have to. Thanks so much for any help.\"\n_____________________\nCBD Oil was just classified (WRONGFULLY) as a schedule 1 drug by the DEA. Legally speaking, you aren't going to have a lot of options for CBD Oil in your state. You may be able to locate medicines that are based on something called CBD isolate, which is a crystalized form of CBD derived from only the stalks and roots of the industrial hemp plants, rather than the potent buds of CBD rich cannabis strains... it is not made from medicinal grade cannabis at all (rather, industrial grade), and I do not consider it very effective at all. They've stripped everything that's medicinally beneficial from the plant, and the heavy processing needed, renders it pretty ineffective, in my honest opinion. If you want to risk it, I know there are PLENTY of sellers on eBay selling CBD products. You can always try there.\n\nheatherlynn","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9589-markdown","title":"I need recommendations for fibromyalgia and neck pain as well as anxiety. I don't want to get paranoid or cause more anxiety. When I tried CBD oil capsules from my health food store I got agitated and it didn't help with pain. Thank you\"\n_____________________\nCBD reacts with THC to create the desired effect. What was the ratio of CBD you tried in your capsules? I would recommend that you try some additional products and combinations to see how you react.\r\n\r\nIf you are sensitive to THC, try a high CBD tincture - something like 18:1 by Care By Design. If that does not get you anxious, but does not help with the fibromyalgia either, then try increasing the ratio of THC, or the overall dosage. For example move to a 8 : 1 ratio, and try a small amount.\r\n\r\nIt's often a case of experimenting with different products and combinations that will ultimately work, because everyone reacts differently to cannabis.\n\nmark\n_____________________\nHi,\r\nI second 18:1 by Care by Design. Add a topical neck balm as well and see how the combination works. The high CBD ratio means you get pain relief without the side effects of THC. Although some THC does work synergistically to enhance the overall effect, as Mark mentioned.\n\njrec","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9585-markdown","title":"I am interested in a topical marijuana cream for pain relief from sciatica. I tend to get irritable with the cbd capsules from health food store and paranoid from smoking. Thank you.\"\n_____________________\nIt may take some experimentation with different products to figure out exactly what works for your pain, but I'd suggest starting with the following two options. \n\nFirst, I'd find a tincture or edible that works well for you - some way to ingest cannabis so it works systemically on your pain. Many folks who are dealing with chronic pain prefer medicine that is not psychoactive, so I'd recommend starting with a high-CBD medicine. Remember that different tinctures and edibles use different strains of flower, so if one doesn't work well for you, try a different one before discounting CBD all together. Some specific products you might try - Om Edibles CBD sipping cacao, The Farmaceuticals Co CBD tincture, Moxie Meds 4:1 tincture. If these don't give enough pain relief, try a tincture/edible that is still low dose, but heavier in THC - maybe Treatwell's 1:1 tincture, or Oara chocolates that are only 5mg. You will have some psychoactivity from these THC products, but it should be mild if you keep the dose low - under 5mg, but I suggest starting with 1-2 mg to see how it works - that should also keep paranoia low. \n\nThe second, additional approach would be to use a topical on specific areas of pain (your neck, for example). A few I'd suggest starting with - Flower child muscle and bruise balm, Sweet Releaf, Om edibles oil, The Farmaceuticals Co CBD balm. I'd suggest doing this in addition to ingesting the cannabis, however, since your pain isn't originating from the outside (a bruise or sore muscle). Hope this helps!\n\namanda","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7551-markdown","title":"I'm having severe neck and spine pain but very sensitive and not sure what to try first plus have anxiety?","slug":"im-having-severe-neck-and-spine-pain-but-very-sensitive-and-not-sure-what-to-try-first-plus-have-anxiety","content":"\n_____________________\nEdibles, like candy and Tinctures are incredible for rheumatoid arthritis as they are sublingual and therefore enter directly into the bloodstream and are great pain management options. I have 5 fused vertebra, and I just found out hte \"pain\" in my feet is likely nerve pain from the spinal fluid pushing against it. With that said, the days are ok, as long as I am on my feet. Nights are hell, with stabbing pain in my feet that keeps me up all night. Was taking lost of Norco & Ibuprofen, have weaned myself from Norco. I am new to CBD, and now taking 1/8 CBD 3x day, 1/4 CBD (one spray) and 5g THC cookie at night. I have a very low tolerance, and THC causes me to get anxiety attacks (this is why it took me so long to find my way to Cannabis!). I wake a few hours later with pain, and am afraid to redose since I have to get up and drive. Plus, this combo is getting too expensive for me to maintain. Any suggestions? Thank you!\"\n_____________________\nThe tincture and edible you're using are great for your issues, hopefully they've been providing some relief. I have two additional suggestions - topical and either vaping or smoking. \n\nCannabis topicals provide tremendous relief. Ideally, I'd suggest a pre-bedtime bath with cannabis Epsom salts followed by self massage with a topical oil and some very light stretching. That will really relax your body before bed. If you don't have time for a bath, applying the oil will also help a lot. \n\nFor the time midway through the night when you wake, smoking or vaping will provide fast relief and will wear off in less time than taking more of your edible. It may take some experimenting to find the right strain for you that doesn't produce any anxiety - look for a vape blend specifically formulated to promote calm.\n\nandrea13","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7545-markdown","title":"How can I order the Pain and Welness Formula Body Lotion?","slug":"how-can-i-order-the-pain-and-welness-formula-body-lotion","content":"\n_____________________\nHi there! I have found that consuming cannabis through inhalation is an effective way to dull your back pain, though to truly combat it, you will want to try cannabis topicals.\n\nCannabis is very effective at reducing pain and inflammation systemically, though I find that this effect is not as strong as the local application cannabinoids to your affected areas. For some topicals, the results are felt within minutes and last hours. I often forget that I have applied a topical to my back, begin to feel good for a few hours, and then wrack my brain trying to figure out what on earth I did yesterday to make my back feel so great! Also, topicals will not cause you to feel intoxicated or \"high.\"\n\nI have also heard that the rectal administration of products designed for this kind of administration work very effectively for back pain.\n\nryan\n_____________________\nLook for whole-plant CBD with very small amounts of THC to take advantage of the known inflammation reduction of cannabinoids without the effects of THC.
