If you are experiencing peripheral neuropathy it is usually due to the chemotherapy treatments. I would highly encourage you to follow through with getting an examination to see if the cause of your neuropathy can be determined. Using a CBD dominant topical salve or cream along with a high CBD tincture or vaporizing oil taken internally may be of great help to restore healthy nerve function. In addition you may want to address posture issues and increase your exercise. Once we are diagnosed with cancer we do recognize how precious life really is and even going for walks feels great. The dose is different for each person so after starting with CBD increase quickly to find an effective dose for you. A target dose for the average person is 60mg but you may need more. CBD will at least reduce any need for other medications. My patients usually see reduction in opioid use by over 75%.\n\ndrblair","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7610-markdown","title":"Is there a topical CBD that can help my neuropathy?","slug":"is-there-a-topical-cbd-that-can-help-my-neuropathy","content":"\n_____________________\nHello there, \nI'd like to state that i'm not a Dr, I own a cannabis delivery service in Marin County. \n\nCBD products that are topical //  SIVA patch - CBD time released (6-8 hours): http://www.sivapatch.com/ \n\nAunt Zelda's topical for spot treatment (put it on where it hurts) https://auntzeldas.org/ \n\nThis is not a topical but could be very helpful for you - \n\nCBD tincture 11:1 ratio: https://www.thefarmaceuticalscompany.com/ \n\nI hope you found this helpful! - Nurit w/ ONA\n\nnurit\n_____________________\nHello, I would recommend you try a high CBD topical formulation such as a cream or salve and apply that directly on the knee every 2-3 hours or as needed for pain. CBD is helpful for neuropathic type pain and is generally non-psychoactive when used topically. Good luck!\n\ndrjacquelynlew","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7609-markdown","title":"Can CBD help my neuropathy?","slug":"can-cbd-help-my-neuropathy","content":"\n_____________________\nYes. Neuropathic pain is caused by a type of peripheral nerve damage. CBD and other non-psychoactive cannabinoids may assist in helping neuropathy. Cannabidiol has been shown to cause neurogenesis, the creation of new neurons and pathways. So if you have damaged ones, CBD can go in and fix them, and create new ones. Here is a list of articles relating neuropathic pain to cannabis: https://www.projectcbd.org/neuropathic-pain \n\nOverall neuron degeneration is inevitable with aging unless the lifestyle behaviors forbid it. A great way to fix broken neurons and pathways is to take cannabis daily as a dietary supplement.  You can achieve this by growing, chopping, mixing, and juicing a live plant. OR you may go to www.evaonline.org and check out our lineup of dietary cannabis capsules with raw, medicinal acidic cannabinoids! www.evaonline.org \n\nCheers - Health is Happiness\n\nnixie","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7608-markdown","title":"I have residual neuropathy from chemotherapy. Also what kind of CBD oil is good for neuropathy in my husband's legs and what kind of CBD oil is good for keeping my husband's blood sugar under control as he is a type 2 diabetic. \"\n_____________________\nSevere pain is a challenge for any herbal or medical treatment. I've had very good results using CBD. The dose is variable depending on the individual unrelated to their size. CBD has been shown to modulate our opioid and other pain receptors to reduce pain directly and make other pain medications more effective as much as 75%. For arthritis 60mg of CBD have been available for most patients in controlling arthritis of all types. Similarly, neuropathy has improved and in some cases of diabetic neuropathy there has been a return of feeling. In diabetes a decrease in BS of 30 points is not unusual but more importantly perhaps is the protection CBD offers against eye, kidney and nerve damage so common in diabetes. Drastic restriction of carbohydrates in the diet will control most cases of T2DM and reverse in some.\n\ndrblair\n_____________________\nCannabidiol is only one molecule out of over 420 cannabinoids found within cannabis. Focusing on just the one molecule for all of these ailments may not be as beneficial as using whole plant, raw cannabis. CBD is popular because it is non-psychoactive. It doesn't get you \"high\" and it's safe for kids and pets. The same goes for acidic cannabinoids found in whole plant cannabis. \r\n\r\nEva makes a great line of products called the \"better supplements\" that would be suitable for your pain, diabetes, and arthritis. \r\n\r\nBetterRelief contains non-psychoactive whole plant cannabis, turmeric, and ginger. These ingredients stabilize blood sugar, relieve pain, and target arthritis. \n\nnixie\n_____________________\nHi friends, I am a cancer free Patient today. After several years of suffering. I thought for awhile THCa helped but not so sure today with flare up.  Can you make a recommendation? \"\n_____________________\nHi, I am not Dr Bugailiskis but I thought I would give an answer.  I highly encourage you consider a topical CBD dominant salve applied to your upper cervical spine and around your ear for additional pain relief and I advise you to use it every 20-30 minutes and progressively longer intervals to keep your pain in total remission and you will likely drive the pain out of your body. It is also conceivable that you likely are vitamin D deficient, so please be certain to check on your vitamin D and blood level with your primary care practitioner.\n\ndrolson\n_____________________\nI'm not a doctor, but I have TN and I use topicals as Dr Olson suggested, and I also find tincture to be effective, especially in conjunction with vaporization. I prefer high CBD strains in the vaporizer, and higher THC in the tincture. I make my own topicals and I always add other herbs and essential oils to it. Some that I find effective include clove, rosemary, St. John's wort, peppermint, and lavender. Keep your total essential oil concentration below 3-5% for safety and see what works best for you.\n\nmainah","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10293-markdown","title":"Trigeminal neuralgia","slug":"trigeminal-neuralgia","content":"\n_____________________\nAre you asking if med cannabis can be used for peripheral neuropathy?  There are multiple studies in the literature that look at cannabis products (more studies have been done on THC than on CBD alone) and show efficacy for  treating peripheral neuropathy symptoms.  I would urge caution however if you are using opiates/ benzodiazepines (like valium)/ muscle relaxants or anti-convulsants like gabapentin .  Cannabis combined with any of these meds can increase risk of falls, lack of coordination, drowsiness\n\ndrpark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10260-markdown","title":"I have Trigeminal Neuralgia, can cannabis help me?","slug":"i-have-trigeminal-neuralgia-can-cannabis-help-me","content":"\n_____________________\nCannabis has been used successfully for treatment of peripheral neuropathy as well as a couple patients w/ trigeminal neuralgia.  A fair body of evidence supports the use of mainly-THC products for trigeminal neuralgia & neuropathy but one can always try various ratios of CBD as well as THC to optimize the pain relief for yourself.  One has to be careful about the use of opiates, benzodiazepines, or neuroleptics like gabapentin at the same time as cannabis products as combinations of these might increase risk of fall/ accident/ lack of balance & coordination as have been observed for some patients. \n\ndrpark","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10259-markdown","title":"I have Trigeminal Neuralgia and I'm in a lot of pain and don't want surgery.  Is there a cannabis that can hel","slug":"i-have-trigeminal-neuralgia-and-im-in-a-lot-of-pain-and-dont-want-surgery-is-there-a-cannabis-that-can-hel","content":"\n_____________________\nTrigeminal neuralgia has both inflammatory and neuropathic components that may respond to cannabis. I would suggest a 1:1 tincture for two-three doses per day without being intoxicated. If you feel a sharpening of your senses or a slight buzzed feeling, these usually go away after using the tincture for a few days. If the intoxicating effect is too much, try a 2:1 or 5:1 ratio. By using a tincture under the tongue, your dose lasts 5-8 hours and you can have almost around-the-clock antiinflammatory and neuroprotective coverage by dosing 2-3 times a day. A THC-dominant variety can be used at bedtime to continue those effects and help with sleep. Start with a few drops and gradually increase the dose until you experience relief. Continue that dose twice daily for a few weeks and then you may be able to dose less frequently. It takes time to determine the right product and dose, so be patient. In addition, a topical balm or creme may help with facial pain. Also consider inhalation at the onset of severe pain. Getting the dose in rapidly can sometimes abort the attack.\n\ndrfrye","image":null}}]}},"pageContext":{"limit":12,"skip":12,"numPages":3,"currentPage":2,"id":5627,"name":"Peripheral Neuropathy","slug":"peripheral-neuropathy","country":"US"}},"staticQueryHashes":["3949754563","4179947113","4202924991"]}
