Meaning, what makes this topical specifically useful for PMS symptoms as opposed to other topicals you offer? Thanks.\"\n_____________________\nThe Dr. Kerklaan representative I contacted had this to say:\n\n\"In our focus group and product development, the feedback that we received from women was that they preferred to have a product that was more soothing and comforting.\n\nThe ingredients and fragrances we have chosen (Vanilla & Verbena) offer more of a soothing sensation than for example our Natural Pain products which include peppermint and eucalyptus which have a cooling sensation. The Natural PMS Cream is often applied to the abdomen area, breasts, and lower back leaving that subtle smell of Vanilla to also help satisfy that sweet craving. \"\n\nKevin P.","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9038-markdown","title":"Anxiety. CBD only - no THC.","slug":"anxiety-cbd-only-no-thc","content":"\"I am currently on Zoloft and have been for a few years. Even though I am on it I have had panic attacks. My dr increased to 75mg which only when I pms I get anxiety. I’ve suffered from panic attacks since I was a kid ( not frequent) .. I hear cbd has great benefits. I am not a fan of ssri’s and if I can be off it I’d rather....\ni Know how to wean off Zoloft but I don’t have much experience with cbd dosage etc. on top of that is it something you take daily like I do Zoloft and dosage? If you start to have a panic attack is there a form of cbd you can take to help at that point ? I can’t or won’t take thc  \nthanks \"\n_____________________\nFortunately there are lots of CBD-only options out in the marketplace for you.  Yes, you can take cannabis while weaning off your SSRI.  You could take a CBD-only capsule, or gummy etc on a regular basis to keep a maintenance level of CBD for anxiety treatment/prevention.  If you have a panic attack, however, you can use a CBD vape pen, since the inhaled form will start working very quickly. Why? 1) Topicals claim, and rightly so, that they do not get absorbed into the blood stream and therefore when you use a topical you are pretty much assured that you will not test positive for THC in your urine and get no euphoric effect. If they do not get absorbed into your blood stream, then how do they make the journey through your skin, through the intestines which cover the uterus, to then somehow magically act on the powerful uterine muscles to help them relax. That would be one magic topical!  \n\nThat is not to say that putting a topical on, taking a warm bath, etc can make menstrual cramping feel better due to a placebo, or psychological effect, or  general relaxation. But I would not attribute it to the topical that you put on your skin. There are products out there that seem to act more directly on the uterus such as Foria that is a vaginal suppository that does have direct contact with the uterus and has been reported to help with cramping.\n\nPerry Solomon, MD\n_____________________\nI would definitely recommend Xternal Bath Soak. Made of soothing Epsom salts infused with Cannabinoids, Xternal Soak can relax muscles, reduce inflammation, relieve pain, minimize stress and detoxify the body. For me personally, when the pain of fibromyalgia or sciatica overwhelms, a soak in a hot tub with Xternal provides what I call \"pain silence.\" It really works for deep relief. I'm guessing it would help with cramps, as well.\n\nBest of luck!\n\nwww.xternalrub.com\n\nxternal","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_11450-markdown","title":"What does Moxie Meds tincture taste like?","slug":"what-does-moxie-meds-tincture-taste-like","content":"\"I'd like to use it to help with my PMS symptoms, but I'm a bit worried it will smell/taste like marijuana (not a fan of that smell!)\"\n_____________________\nMoxie Meds tinctures are flavored with organic strawberry and organic basil extracts. They taste very minimally of cannabis and smell like strawberry primarily. Patients will find the flavor enjoyable and will be unlikely to notice much of a cannabis taste.\n\njessicapeters\n_____________________\nI find Moxie Meds to taste quite nice - sort of sweet with a very faint cannabis smell. Because the tincture is quite potent, I don't need a lot (a few drops under my tongue) so the taste is mild and does not stay in my mouth long. Other people cannot smell it on me after I consume it and then drink some water. If I add it to a tea the taste is almost undetectable.\n\namanda","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10696-markdown","title":"How can marijuana make me feel better if I have PMS mood swings?","slug":"how-can-marijuana-make-me-feel-better-if-i-have-pms-mood-swings","content":"\"A few days before my period I get a real mood swing and feel very tired, moody and feel like the world is against me. Can marijuana stop this feeling?\"\n_____________________\nThe short answer is, it might! The estrogen and progesterone cycles are responsible for mood swings many women experience during PMS and prostaglandins are responsible for pain and discomfort. There are several properties within cannabis that may be helpful for PMS in general. \n\nSome women report that indica can be helpful for alleviating pain and inducing relaxation in the evening. \n\nHybrid strains with both indica for comfort and sativa for mood elevation / stabilization have also been helpful.  Some examples include Obama Kush, Blue Dream, and Dutch Treat. \n\ndredmunds","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_10665-markdown","title":"I suffer from really bad cramps and PMS. Can marijuana help with this?","slug":"i-suffer-from-really-bad-cramps-and-pms-can-marijuana-help-with-this","content":"\"I've tried different types of birth control, advil, etc. and nothing really helps. If marijuana can help, what kind of strain or product should I use?\"\n_____________________\nTerrific questions that we hear a lot, and are really 2 questions.\n\nAs for the cramps, the monthly pain the women experience with their period is one that differs with each woman. Some just need to take a over the counter medication  and some need to have their physician prescribe opioids to help the pain. Cannabis has been used for many years to help with this type of pain. In the late 1800's Queen  Victoria was prescribed cannabis by her team of physicians to help with her pain.\n\nWomen have been using cannabis in many forms by smoking, vaping, tinctures etc. However since menstrual pain occurs all day long a longer acting and more direct acting solution seems to make sense. A company that we have heard about, Foria, developed a vaginal suppository that contains both THC and CBD for both pain and anti-inflammatory relief.  The feedback from many of our patients is that it seems to work very well within 20-30 minutes after use without any, or very minimal,  psychoactive side effects.\n\nWhat I think is remarkable about this product, is that it is one of the very few products that was tailored to treat a very specific medical condition. I think that in the future there will be more and more targeted products for different medical conditions, but right now Foria seems to be the first.\n\nConcerning the PMS, that condition can have widely varying symptoms  including physical, behavioral and mental/emotional. Physical symptoms can include headaches, constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, night sweats, altered sex drive, insomnia, sleeping too much, lowered coordination, fatigue and pain -- similar to period cramps. Mental symptoms can include depression, anxiety, confusion and negative thoughts/feelings. Behavioral symptoms can include mood swings and fits of hostility or anger. The severity of these symptoms can differ widely even in the same woman from day to day.\n\nIt helps to separate what symptoms effect you most and deal with a one or two since there is not one single type of cannabis product that can help all of them at once. For example if you take insomnia, it might help to take a indica strain edible with a combined THC/CBD profile that would last through the night instead of vaping. When visiting your local bud tender they may suggest several different products for the symptoms of PMS that bothers you the most.\n\nPerry Solomon, MD\n_____________________\nA nice indica hybrid, that has a good ratio of CBD, such as Lavendar Kush High CBD, is great for helping to alleviate cramps and fabulous for evening and helping with sleep during your cycle. For daytime use, we've created an elixir called Full Moon that works wonders for balancing hormones during PMS and alleviates cramps. Designed to offer the benefits of cannabis without the high, you can take it throughout the day, every few hours, and still be able to be present and functional for your daily life. Quiver is our sensual lubricant. Because you apply it internally, it works wonders for helping to relax the cramps at the site of pain. Please feel free to look us up if you have further questions. We're here to help and have seen wonderfully positive results with these products from dozens of women.\n\nherbabuena","image":null}}]}},"pageContext":{"limit":12,"skip":0,"numPages":1,"currentPage":1,"id":5643,"name":"PMS","slug":"pms","country":"US"}},"staticQueryHashes":["3949754563","4179947113","4202924991"]}
