I'm looking for something that helps me sleep through the night but doesn't make me feel groggy in the AM. \nCarol Z.\n\n-------------------\n\n![Camino gummies by Kiva are great for sleep.](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_11_30_at_6_28_06_PM_8da9faeeba.png)\n\nI know what you mean. I’ve developed insomnia in the last few years. Don’t like the usual sleep meds. Sometimes they don’t work, and sometimes they work too well and keep me dozy the next day. Weed works better but you have to find the right kind for you, which may take some experimenting. \n\nAs far as being groggy the next day, THC I think is the issue. If you have too much, it’ll knock you out at night ok but it makes you really out of it the next day. I think I’ve heard a lower percentage than 20% is good, but it depends on your tolerance. I love Kiva's Camino gummies and I eat one before bed and sleep through the night.\n\nHow you take it depends on your preference. You can smoke it but if you are worried about the health effects, then vaping, tinctures under the tongue, pills, oils, and even edibles might work. But with edibles, you’ve got to be careful because they take longer to work. It’s sometimes hard to time it right so you aren’t left tossing and turning before they kick in. Maybe if you take an edible an hour ahead of time, you might get close to dosing yourself at the right time.\n\nAs well you have a choice of strains for better sleep. I tend to like Indica strains and some hybrids since they mellow me out. Sativa tends to wind me up (though there might be something out there that works). I sometimes vape it, but I prefer tincture drops under the tongue or pills because they are easier for me as part of a regular bedtime routine.\n\nI hope that helps.\n\nLextext2\n\n--------------\n![Kikoko has great tea for sleep](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screen_Shot_2021_11_30_at_6_31_26_PM_8a5ec845e5.png)\n\nGood question. Sleep disorders are a big issue in this country. The [American Sleep Association](https://www.sleepassociation.org/about-sleep/sleep-statistics/) points out that 50 to 70 million U.S. adults have a sleep disorder; almost 38% reported unintentionally falling asleep during the day at least once in the preceding month, and 4.7% reported nodding off or falling asleep while driving.\n\nIf you want to learn more about using cannabis to help with sleep issues, just drop the word “insomnia” into the HelloMD search box and you’ll find a lot of articles and advice on the subject, sometimes including product recommendations. For example, our article [“Top 5 Cannabis Products to Help You Stay Asleep”](https://hellomd.com/articles/top-5-cannabis-products-to-help-you-stay-asleep). Or if you like tea, Kioko’s cannabis-infused tea might do the trick; its tea bag is water-soluble, carries an exact dose, and uses only organic ingredients. [Kikoko’s Tranquili-Tea](https://kikoko.com/product/tranquili-tea/) contains 3 mg of THC and 5 mg of the non-psychoactive cannabinol CBN.\n\nFor my part, I like combining [cannabis terpenes and vitamins](https://hellomd.com/articles/3-combinations-of-terpenes-and-vitamins-to-beat-stress-insomnia-and-chronic-pain) to help with insomnia, as well as issues like stress and pain. Using linalool together with Vitamin D is one combo that may help you get better sleep, with no next-day grogginess at all.\n\nAlso, you may want to check out the HelloMD YouTube channel. For example, we have a video of me [interviewing Carrie Tice](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc215PQPzFI), founder of Octavia Wellness, on seniors using cannabis for insomnia. \n\nPeter S.\n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/jpeg;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.5037593984962405,"src":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/14b42/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg","srcSet":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/f836f/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/2244e/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 400w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/14b42/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 800w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/47498/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 1200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/0e329/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 1600w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/151be/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 5892w","srcWebp":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/58556/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/61e93/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/1f5c5/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 400w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/58556/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 800w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/99238/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 1200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/7c22d/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 1600w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/4b0c8/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 5892w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12540-markdown","title":"what is best as a sleep aid?","slug":"what-is-best-as-a-sleep-aid","content":"**I’ve always had trouble sleeping. You endure long, frustrating nights, often with your darkest thoughts, and then even longer days where you lack energy and have trouble focusing.\n\n![shutterstock_366276713-min.jpg](https://hellomd-cms.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/shutterstock_366276713_min_ed5d62e30a.jpg)\n\nEverybody has trouble sleeping now and then, but if it is a chronic condition it could be a sleep disorder such as [insomnia](https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/12119-insomnia), where it is hard to nod off, to stay asleep if you manage it, and to get enough shut-eye to keep you healthy.\n\nSleeplessness can lead to health problems such as diabetes, hypertension, and weight gain. You may feel fatigued and irritable during the day. You are not alone with your problem sleeping. Sleep disorders affect up to 70 million Americans every year. Insomnia symptoms are found in about 33% to 50% of the adult population, while chronic insomnia disorder is estimated to be about 10% to 15%.\n\nTraditional treatments for insomnia could be medications, such as various kinds of sleeping pills, and therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. But more and more people are looking to cannabis as an alternative to help them sleep, often to avoid the heavy side effects experienced with some traditional medications.\n\n[Some studies show](https://hellomd.com/articles/finding-relief-from-insomnia-with-cannabis) that many people report falling asleep easier and more quickly after consuming marijuana. As well, cannabis can sometimes decrease episodes of sleep apnea, helping patients sleep more consistently throughout the night.\n\nBeing sleepless in Seattle — and everywhere else — has become such a common problem that more and more cannabis products specifically designed to help get much needed rest are hitting the market. For example, in the HelloMD article archive we have an [interview with Pianta Tinta](https://hellomd.com/articles/cannabis-as-a-sleep-aid-for-insomnia-an-interview-with-pianta-tinta), whose company [Pianta Tinta Collective](https://www.piantacbd.com/) develops high CBD tinctures, oils and rubs that help with insomnia, as well as other conditions, such as chronic pain.\n\nSaid Tinta: “We recently produced a high THC tincture [[Romulan Super High THC Tincture](https://www.piantacbd.com/new-products?category=High+THC)] that we feel is particularly good at relieving insomnia. As we all know, insomnia can be difficult to overcome. Not everyone has insomnia for the same reasons. For instance, one person may not be sleeping because they have pain related to inflammation. If you bring the inflammation down with a high CBD product, they may be able to get a good night’s sleep every night. In other instances, a high THC tincture will help relax a person who struggles to get to sleep and also help them to stay asleep longer.”\n\nSleeplessness can be due to a variety of causes. So cannabis offers a number of [THC- and CBD-leaning solutions](https://hellomd.com/articles/the-10-best-marijuana-strains-for-insomnia) that can address different reasons for the problem.\n\nThree strains of cannabis that have a good track record of helping people to sleep better include:\n\n- Harlequin: This is a hybrid cannabis strain that is 75% sativa-dominant, and strong in CBD, with a CBD-to-THC ratio of 5:2. [Harlequin](https://hellomd.com/strains/harlequin) helps people to relax, and fall and stay asleep. Because it has minimal psychoactivity, it's good for people who suffer from anxiety-related insomnia.\n- Girl Scout Cookies: This is an indica strain with 20% THC and 2% CBD. It's known for its sedating, full-body relaxation effects, so it may be good for those suffering from insomnia. [Girl Scout Cookies](https://hellomd.com/strains/gsc) is a very potent strain, so go slow is good advice, since it can produce strong psychoactive effects.\n- White Widow: This is a balanced hybrid cannabis strain that is known to be more cerebral and relaxing while providing a well-balanced high. With about 20% THC and 2% CBD, [White Widow](https://hellomd.com/strains/white-widow) is often useful for insomnia associated with pain and depression).\n\nJack HMD\n\n\n---------------\nThe greatest marijuana strain to help you [sleep better](https://hellomd.com/articles/finding-relief-from-insomnia-with-cannabis) depends a lot on what's causing your sleeplessness. Insomnia can be caused by a wide range of psychiatric or medical disorders, poor sleeping habits, or other biological factors. Acid reflux, hypertension, chronic pain, melancholy, stress, anxiety, or a recent traumatic event like the death of a loved one can all contribute to insomnia.\n\nInsomnia can also result from late-night activities that induce adrenaline spikes, such as working out after work. In addition, late-afternoon or evening caffeine consumption, as well as working, watching TV, or eating, can all contribute to insomnia.\n\nIf you can alleviate your insomnia by just changing your sleep routine, go ahead and make the changes. Marijuana, on the other hand, can aid if you're having trouble sleeping due to other concerns including pain, melancholy, stress, or anxiety. When patients were administered THC, they took significantly less time to fall asleep, according to a 1973 research published in Human Pharmacology. Meanwhile, a 1981 study found that giving patients with insomnia a 160 mg dose of CBD enhanced the length of time they could sleep compared to giving them a placebo.\n\nHere are four marijuana strains that are better at relieving insomnia caused by chronic pain, while others are better at relieving anxiety.\n\nHere are the strains I recommend:\n\n1. Harlequin\n[Harlequin](https://hellomd.com/strains/harlequin) is a hybrid cannabis strain that is 75 percent sativa-dominant. Harlequin is strong in CBD, with a CBD-to-THC ratio of 5:2. Pain, stress, anxiety, and sadness are all known to be relieved by this strain. Harlequin is a relaxing strain that helps people fall and stay asleep, despite its sativa dominance. Because it has little to no psychoactivity, it's very beneficial for persons who suffer from anxiety-related insomnia.\n\n2. Cookie Jar\nCookie Jar is a cross between White Fire Alien OG and Platinum Girl Scout Cookies. This marijuana strain can aid with anxiety and headaches, but it's most recognized for its overall relaxing effects. As a result, Cookie Jar is an excellent choice!\n\n3. Girl Scout Cookies\nGirl Scout Cookies is an indica strain that has 20% THC and 2% CBD. It's been used to treat depression and is recognized for its sedating, full-body relaxation effects, making it a suitable choice for insomniacs.\n\n4. White Widow \nThis well-balanced hybrid marijuana strain is noted for being more cerebral and soothing while yet delivering a well-balanced euphoric experience. It contains around 20% THC and 2% CBD. White Widow is especially beneficial for sleeplessness caused by pain or despair.\n\nNurse Oc\n","image":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"base64":"data:image/jpeg;base64,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","aspectRatio":1.5037593984962405,"src":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/14b42/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg","srcSet":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/f836f/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/2244e/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 400w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/14b42/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 800w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/47498/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 1200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/0e329/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 1600w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/151be/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.jpg 5892w","srcWebp":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/58556/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/61e93/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/1f5c5/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 400w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/58556/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 800w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/99238/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 1200w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/7c22d/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 1600w,\n/static/25b858b81773a621ee4dbefb6304b6a3/4b0c8/1b71e8fc559248e9dc14ffbb232aa8e1.webp 5892w","sizes":"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px"}}}}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12366-markdown","title":"Is it safe to have general anesthesia for surgery if I used THC oil recently? A recent literature review conducted by Huson, Granados and Rasko (2018) found that “marijuana increased cardiac workload, myocardial infarctions and strokes in young, chronic users.” The literature review also found that those who smoked marijuana were more likely to require increased anesthetic doses to place laryngeal airways (just like smoking, marijuana causes airway obstruction). “Use within 72 hours of general anesthesia was advised against” (Hunson, Granados and Rasko, 2018). \nBased on the above literature review, it looks like you should be fine because you will have abstained from using cannabis for over a month by the time you receive general anaesthesia. I do however recommend that you let your health care providers (including your surgeon) know that you have been experimenting with THC oil recently.\n \nHuson, H.B., Granados, T.M., and Rasko, Y. That means smoking marijuana, edibles, and synthetic marijuana. The use of marijuana, especially immediately prior to surgery, can change the doses needed for sedation. It has been found that cannabis users requires substantially higher doses of anesthesia. There are other reasons why use of cannabis can compromize operative and post operative period, such as airway obstruction , respiratory cardiovascular distress, increrased depression of central nervous system (when barbiturates given after surgery), inhibition of other medication action going the same liver metabolic pathway (Huson , Granados, Rasko, 2018).\n\nTherefore, abstaining from marijuana in the weeks before surgery can decrease the likelihood of complications during and after surgery. \n\n Huson, H. Similarly, several recently published studies suggest that CBD does the same. However, CBD does so, not by increasing the serotonin available to bind 5-HT1A receptors, as SSRIs do, but by mimicking serotonin's action at the 5-HT1A receptor; or, in scientific terms: CBD is a 5-HT1A receptor agonist. ++\n\nIn general, for anxiety and depression issues, patients take between 5mg to 20mg of CBD two to three times/day. However, if possible, adding a small to moderate amount of THC would be much more effective, especially during any acute increase of intense anxiety—2.5mg to 10mg of THC is what most patients find helpful, without unwanted side effects. However, patients should always \"start low, and go slow.\" So, patients should not start above 2.5mg of THC. ++ If THC is available, it can be mixed with THC at varying levels. These products are expressed in ratios. ++ Ratios: In the vast majority of cases, are expressed in Parts of CBD, to every Part of THC.\n\ndrkim\n_____________________\nSo, for example, 10:1 would indicate 10CBD:1THC; 2:1 would indicate 2CBD:1THC\nIn general, when both CBD and THC are valuable in treating the condition, it's a good idea to keep the milligrams of CBD relatively consistent, then manipulate the ratios to provide an appropriate amount of THC. Most choose between 5 to 20mg of CBD. \n\nSo, for example, if we wanted to keep the CBD dosage at 10mg, we would choose the ratio of the product that provides the amount of THC that is acceptable to the patient. Many patients want no perceptible psychoactivity during the day, while some psychoactivity during the evening is acceptable. In this situation, many would use a higher ratio during the day, such as\n10:1, which would provide 10mg of CBD and 1mg of THC. Most patients do not perceive psychoactivity when taking 1mg, or less of THC\n\nThen as a sleep aid, a more balanced ratio, such as 1:1, which would provide 10mg of CBD, and 10mg of THC. 10mg is considered a \"standard dose.\" Most new patients report 10mg of THC to be moderately to extremely psychoactive. So, when starting, it's always a good idea to start low, and go slow.   In general, 2.5mgs of THC would be a good \"test dose.\"\n\ndrkim\n_____________________\nRatios of between 10:1 and 30:1 are rarely psychoactive, so this ratio-range would be a good choice for most when psychoactivity is to be avoided, such as during the daytime, or if the patient prefers to avoid any psychoactivity. +\n\nRatios of between 4:1 and 8:1 are considered mid-range ratios. In general, products in this range would cause mild psychoactivity, noticeable anxiety relief and a boosted mood, without feeling \"high\". +\n\n2:1 and 1:1 are more balanced ratios. In general, this range provides the most pain relief and is the better choice for sleep issues. +++\n\nOils:\n1. Place the oil under your tongue.\n2. Use your tongue to gently “paint” the tincture around your inner cheeks\n3. Wait 60 to 90 seconds before swallowing.\nEffects should peak in about 15 minutes, and should last between 2 to 4 hours\n\nEDIBLES:\nWait at least 1 hour to gauge efficacy. When you are on an empty stomach, peak effect is reached in about one hour. However, if you have had a large meal, especially a fatty meal, it can take up to two hours to reach peak effect. Effects should last between 4 to 10 hours.\n\nWhen choosing products, make sure that the product label specifies the amount of CBD and/or THC per drop or dropper-full. Many products simply state the total amount of CBD and/or THC, which leads to unnecessary confusion. +++\n\ndrkim\n_____________________\nWhen looking for a quality CBD oil, pill or vape cartridge, make sure that they:\n1. Use CO2 extraction\n2. Practice \"Whole plant philosophy\", which should preserve many of the lesser known cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in cannabis. \n3. Also, keep in mind that heavy cannabis use will worsen depression. \n\nI would recommend more balanced CBD strains with ratios between 4CBD:1THC and 1CBD:1THC. \nFor all of your stated issues, Harlequin would be a great daytime choice to try out. Harlequin is a popular sativa dominant strain with about a 5:2 ratio. Although it's a sativa dominant strain, Harlequin is a very soothing, yet uplifting strain. Canna-tsu (1:1) and Cannatonic (3:1) would also be good strains to try during the daytime. \n\nSweet and Sour Widow (1:1) and Pennywise (1:1) are Indica CBD strains that would be great choices to try during the evening. \n\nI hope this helps!\n\ndrkim","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_12334-markdown","title":"Hello, I have my MM card in NJ, I was wondering if you guys sell or know who sells items with THC to NJ. Of course depending on the recipe and cooking method, it would be difficult to tell how much THC would be in each edible product. Unfortunately though, results from clinical studies have been inconclusive and conflicting. However, \"an open-label observational study assessing the clinical effect of cannabis on motor and non-motor symptoms of PD revealed significant improvement after treatment in tremor (P < 0.001), rigidity(P = 0.004), and bradykinesia (P < 0.001).\"\nhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24614667\n\nAlso, typical neuropathological features of Parkinson's include degeneration of dopaminergic neurons--several studies suggest that cannabis has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and other properties that could be neuroprotective, which may explain some of the positive results some studies have show regarding cannabis and Parkinson's.\nhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4926438/\n\n\ndrkim\n_____________________\nAnd although the research regarding cannabis and motor symptoms of PD has been conflicting, cannabis has been shown to mitigate many of the non-motor symptoms which often accompany Parkinson's, such as insomnia, pain, anxiety and depression.\n\nAltogether, I consider cannabis as a valuable adjunctive medicine for the treatment of Parkinson's, which should improve the quality of life for most patients afflicted with Parkinson's disease and may even slow the progression of the disease and reduce motor symptoms.\n\nHigher concentrations of CBD vs THC, such as 20CBD:1THC, will lessen, or even eliminate psychoactive effects, while still providing pain relief.
