Another option is to try med cann topical lotions with a similar CBD:THC  ratio and cannabinoid dosage as the patch (or, creams or other preps) in a low dose/ small application and see how you react to that.  Keep in mind that there might be a slightly increased risk of falls (at least in my experience) so be mindful of this especially if other medications that might cause orthostatic hypotension, dizziness, balance issues are also being administered.
