I could get drunk off of maybe two beers, high off of one good hit. I have been taking indicas up until 6 months ago when suddenly I started getting incredible anxiety and sleeplessness. Adding to this was a large increase in heat in my body...like hot flashes. \n\nI am a 27 yo F. Now if I take even the slightest amount of weed (have tried different strains) this happens. I can't figure out why this is happening. I hate the idea that I might never be able to smoke again.\n\nDoes this have to do with hormones? Seratonin? It can't be possible to \"green out\" with such small amounts of marijuana...right?\"\n_____________________\nHello there! I'm so sorry that you are having these reactions. However we might be able to do some deductive work to try to figure things out. The more I think about your case, I wonder if cannabis is even the issue. Hormonal swings in estrogen/ progesterone might cause some of the symptoms you describe. Have you spoken to your ob-gyn or regular MD about these issues? Is there any change in diet, stress levels at work, etc? If you think cannabis may be the cause, I might try taking a break for a short time (perhaps a week or so) and see if there is any change in your symptoms. Or another option is to try cannabis but to deliver it in a much lower concentration to your system; you can try diluting cannabis tincture in tea, coffee, juice, or soup and see if this helps. Let us know if any of these ideas lead to any useful findings & best of luck!\n\ndrpark\n_____________________\nBUY CANNABIS \nWe have top quality medical cannabis buds, oil extract, wax, hash and edibles available at affordable prices. Does marijuana and Wellbutrin mix poorly and cause a bad reaction or will I be okay?\r\n\r\nI am not an avid smoker but I wanted to know if recreational is okay?\"\n_____________________\nThere is very little reported in the medical literature about adverse effects of cannabis when taking bupropion and similar medications. The widespread use of these precriptions and the frequency of concomitant cannabis use indicates that as a practical matter there is no reason to avoid combining the two. I would be inclined to minimize cannabis use when starting a new prescription for Wellbutrin until it becomes clear what that medication's effects are by itself - perhaps one to two weeks. At that point cautiously increasing cannabis use will allow subjective evaluation of its benefit when taken with Wellbutrin.\n\ndrelkind\n_____________________\n\n We have top quality medical cannabis available at affordable prices. I think that a good unbleached rolling paper or a hemp rolling paper is truly the best way to enjoy your experience. A joint allows you to taste the flower more than other ways like bongs, pipes, or blunts. Even certain vaporizers to me often leave a distinct aftertaste that is reminicscent of burnt popcorn. Many true cannabis conniseurs are consuming more exclusive, exotic, and flavorful strains, for example, some of my favorites are Gelato and Sunset Sherbert, not only for the effect, but for the sweet, creamy taste on the inhale. \n\nnsavelli\n_____________________\nI’m a bong user or joints.\n\nDrebot","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8535-markdown","title":"Will legal cannabis be available in my county after January 1, 2018?","slug":"will-legal-cannabis-be-available-in-my-county-after-january-1-2018","content":"\"I have heard that local jurisdictions have to give out licenses to dispensaries, and that some are either not doing it at all or just not ready to do it. Just because the voters in Califronia passed legislation for adult use starting January 2, it does not mean that each town, city or county have to have dispensaries. Each one of those locations can decide to have no dispensaries, a dispensary with a adult license, a medical license or both types of licenses. You need to constantly check your specific location to see what they have allowed. These are usually voted on at town meetings where people can give their input to their elected officials.\n\nPerry Solomon, MD","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_8456-markdown","title":"Can indica strains of marijuana induce or promote anxiety, heart racing, adrenal glands?","slug":"can-indica-strains-of-marijuana-induce-or-promote-anxiety-heart-racing-adrenal-glands","content":"\"I have vaped for a while. My main strains I would take before bed with some melatonin. They were Lemon OG and Blueberry pie (THC dominant). \r\nLately, I've developed sleep anxiety. Taking anything weed related only seemed to make it worse. I incorporated a tincture to help me sleep, however today especially after sleeping 10hrs, I woke up and all day just little epinephrine rushes sometimes for no reason. I've been to doctors over the last week or so and they say I'm fine. I've been meditating, deep breathing, and putting my faith in myself, but this feels a little more than psychosomatic. Any help?\"\n_____________________\nHello and thank you for the great question, \n\nI believe you are referring to adrenal fatigue, which is not recognized as a legitimate diagnosis by allopathic medicine. However, I do believe that there is some merit to the theory. \n\nThere are no studies on humans which evaluate the long term effects of cannabis on the adrenal glands. However, cannabis has been shown to elevate cortisol levels, which of course, is central to the theory of adrenal fatigue. However, this effect is relatively short lived and I doubt cannabis, when used in moderation or sparingly, would cause long term adverse effects on adrenal glands. However, if used heavily, I would hypothesize that cannabis could have some negative effects on the adrenal glands - most likely not permanent though. \n\nFirst and foremost, you should consult your primary care physician to discuss your symptoms so that he/she could evaluate you properly; I cannot offer you a valid opinion without asking you more questions, performing a pertinent physical exam and possibly running laboratory tests. I will say, however, that it sounds most likely a psychosomatic reaction. \n\nIt also sounds like you may be sensitive to THC, which has been shown to have cardiovascular effects like elevated heart rate and changes in blood pressure; THC is also the main culprit in elevated anxiety and even paranoia in some. \n\nConsidering the above and the choices you inquired about, lemon OG would be the better choice for sleep and would also be much less prone to causing elevated anxiety and heart rate. \n\nHowever, I would recommend you try \"high CBD strains\" which have much lower THC concentrations than both lemon OG and especially blueberry pie. \n\nHere are some of my recommended high CBD strains. \n- The INDICA would be the choice for sleep.\n\n-Some recommended high CBD strains-\nSATIVA - Harlequin is one of the most popular CBD strains available. Typically testing around the 5:2 CBD/THC ratio, it exhibits a sativa-dominant alertness with only mild euphoria. Harlequin has a happy bent that most will find enhances whatever activity they are engaged in.\n\nHYBRD - ACDC is easily my favorite CBD strain. The cannabinoid content is usually heavily CBD-dominant, sitting on average at 20:1 in its CBD/THC ratio. An imperceptible amount of THC makes ACDC an outstanding companion for daily medicinal cannabis consumers seeking to relieve tension, pain, or anxiety.\n\nINDICA - Stephen Hawking Kush offers mild, relaxing effects while doling out a healthy dose of CBD, too. This indica-dominant strain is one of the more unique CBD cuts out there, offering both heady and soothing effects.\n\ndrkim","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_7708-markdown","title":"Does smoking marijuana cause worsening of Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) symptoms? You can try to heat your tinture in a container, though decarboxyliation occurs at 220 degrees F so that is not so simple and probably a pretty dangerous idea. You could evaporate the tincture solution, leaving your THC behind. Then set that in the oven at 220 for 30 minutes, and reintroduce a new tincture solution. \n\nThese are just some ideas. The transdermal patches are designed for localized pain relief. If you are currently using cannabis to deal with localized pain, these may be a more effective delivery system, and you may be able to decrease your overall use of cannabis (smoking, vaping, edibles, etc.) Bear in mind, the patches do contain THC and can be psychoactive; they may also be detectable on a urine drug screening.\n\nashleigh","image":null}},{"node":{"id":"Question_9568-markdown","title":"How do I detemine the CBD:THC ratio of 2:1 type of weed has most CBD?","slug":"how-do-i-detemine-the-cbd-thc-ratio-of-2-1-type-of-weed-has-most-cbd","content":"\"insomnia\"\n_____________________\nBy defining your ratio of a 2:1, that would be equal to 2 parts CBD to 1 part THC. In other words, if you had a 10mg CBD dose, of a 2:1, the THC would be 5mg. As far as the question of what strain of cannabis has the highest amount of CBD to THC, I am not sure I can absolutely answer that question. The high CBD strains I work with for Trokie products use a 3:1 ratio like Santa Cruz Tsunami or Clone 62, if you are looking to smoke or vape that strain in bud or concentrate form. Trokie is a buccal delivery system so it is delivered via your oral mucosa and not inhaled. We have a 1:1 ratio. How much is too much tincture? I'm new to this so need a lot of educating but so far I'm not very impressed. Don't want to smoke. One topical helps but smells like weed so can't go out with it on. Kiva 60/60 chocolate helps with sleep. Am I missing something ?\"\n_____________________\nHi, I would ask are you using primarily all CBD and how often are you dosing and for how long? Most CBD tinctures are usually displayed with a ratio of CBD:THC so you may have a 20:1 which would be 20 parts CBD to 1 part THC. CBD does help with inflammation but in my experience, a CBD tincture does not help immediately with pain, it is something that when taken over a longer period of pain may help calm general inflammation and discomfort.\n\nI don't have arthritis but I have intense migraines. I found that when I started taking CBD tinctures it took about 2-3 months before i noticed a real decrease in my pain until finally I don't get them at all anymore. That said, everyone is different. I find a tincture with high CBD 20:1 followed by a tincture with 4:1 later in the day is what works best for me. \n\nTopicals vary and many yes, do smell terrible or can be greasy. Topicals are great because they provide localized relief and do not enter the blood stream. Two topicals I love are SweetReLeaf and FlowerPower. \n\nAnother thing you might consider is microdosing during the day very small amounts of THC in 1-2 mg which can help with pain and relax the body while you are still able to function mentally. Satori Chocolates now has a great product. I will include links below.\n\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/cannabis-soothes-arthritis-pain\nhttps://www.hellomd.com/health-wellness/microdosing-the-big-new-trend\n\nI hope this helps!
