It does not matter if you are flying within state, out of state or out of the country, the answer is always no.</p>\n<p>Airports, airspace and airplanes all fall under federal jurisdiction and marijuana, medical or otherwise, is considered illegal under federal law.  Therefore, technically, if you choose to travel by plane with medical marijuana, you risk being detained, arrested and prosecuted under federal law even if the state you are departing from allows you to possess and use marijuana legally.</p>\n<p>Under federal law, possession of marijuana is punishable by up to one year in jail and a minimum fine of $1,000 for a first conviction.
